Airbus Helicopters France adopts Airborne’s composite automation technologies

At the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, and in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Airbus Helicopters has signed a Letter of Intent recently to adopt Airborne’s digital automation technologies for it’s factory in Le Bourget (Paris), France.

The goal is to optimise manufacturing efficiency and output of composite rotor hubs and helicopter blades. The intent is to implement both Airborne’s main software and automation systems: Automated Ply Placement and Kit by Light.

Comau strengthens partnership with Foton Daimler to boost advanced truck manufacturing

Comau has reinforced its longstanding collaboration with Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive (BFDA) by developing and delivering a state-of-the-art, fully automated body-in-white solution to support BFDA’s new A6 platform.

The production line, designed for Foton Daimler’s premium heavy-duty trucks, reflects Comau’s commitment to helping its customers achieve modular production, reduced time-to-market, and greater manufacturing flexibility.

With a focus on productivity, achieved through flexible and adaptable operations, Comau’s solution spans the complete body-in-white welding process. Chinese automaker XPENG selects Magna for vehicle assembly

As Chinese car manufacturers enter the European market, the need for localized production is growing. Magna has announced that XPENG, a Chinese smart electric vehicle manufacturer, has selected the company to assemble two new models for the European market.

Serial production of these new smart electric vehicles will begin in Q3 2025, marking the start of a long-term collaboration for future models.

Thales Alenia Space inaugurates state-of-the-art ‘Space Smart Factory’ in Rome

Thales Alenia Space has inaugurated its new “Space Smart Factory” in Rome – one of Europe’s most advanced digital and reconfigurable satellite manufacturing facilities – in a ceremony attended by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

A joint venture between Thales (67 percent) and Leonardo (33 percent), the company says the €100 million facility marks “a paradigm shift in the construction of space systems”, enabling the production of more than 100 satellites per year using modular cleanrooms, digital continuity, and robotic technologies.

Lianhe Sowell signs $105 million funding deal to build AI robot manufacturing and R&D base in UAE

Lianhe Sowell International Group – also known as Sowell Robot – has signed a non-binding term sheet for $105 million in financing with Excellent Capital Investments (ECI), a European infrastructure investment fund, to establish its first artificial intelligence-powered robot manufacturing and research and development base in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the company, the planned investment marks “a significant step” in Lianhe Sowell’s global intelligent manufacturing strategy.

Total investment in the UAE project is estimated at about $132.5 million, with Lianhe Sowell contributing 20 percent as cornerstone investment and ECI providing the remaining 80 percent, or $105 million, in the form of structured senior secured credit support. Dover to invest $20 million to expand manufacturing operations in Virginia

Dover Food Retail, a part of Dover Corporation and a manufacturer of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and refrigerated display cases, says it will invest over $20 million to expand its Virginia operations.

The company says it plans to do this by relocating its Anthony brand manufacturing from Sylmar, California, to its Virginia campus, which is projected to create more than 300 new jobs over the next year.

The investment will expand on its current production with skilled workers manufacturing a wide range of commercial glass refrigerators and freezer doors and frames, utilizing cutting-edge technology to meet the demanding specifications of food retail customers across North America and worldwide. Truck maker Scania marks historic milestone with new €2 billion global industrial hub in China

Swedish truck maker Scania has taken what it describes as “a momentous step in its 134-year journey” by inaugurating its third global industrial hub, in China.

The company says that this investment not only strengthens Scania’s global footprint but positions the company “at the heart of the world’s largest truck market”.

The new industrial hub in Rugao, Jiangsu Province, represents one of Scania’s largest global investments to date.

Covering 800,000 square metres, the site has a licensed production capacity of 50,000 vehicles a year and will serve both the Chinese market and selected export markets in Asia and beyond. Automotive giant Stellantis to invest historic record $13 billion to ‘grow in the United States’

Announcing the ‘largest single investment in company’s 100-year history’, Stellantis plans to expand US production by 50 percent, with five new vehicle launches and 19 product actions over next four years, adding more than 5,000 new jobs at plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana

Stellantis has announced plans to invest a staggering $13 billion over the next four years to grow its business in the critical United States market and to increase its domestic manufacturing footprint.

The investment is the largest in the company’s 100-year US history and will support the introduction of five new vehicles across the brand portfolio in key segments; production of the all-new four-cylinder engine; and the addition of more than 5,000 jobs at plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

Caracol raises $40 million in Series B to scale up its advanced manufacturing technologies

Caracol, one of Europe’s fastest-growing deep-tech companies and a pioneer in large-format robotic manufacturing, today announced the closing of its $40 million Series B round, co-led by Omnes Capital, Move Capital Fund I, alongside CDP Venture Capital – Large Ventures Fund, which played a key role as a catalyst for international investors.

These international funds, together with leading Italian institutional investors, will accompany Caracol into its next phase of global growth, alongside continued backing from long-standing shareholders including Primo Capital SGR, Eureka! Venture SGR, and Neva SGR (the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s venture capital company).

Caracol says that “thanks to a massive oversubscription”, this round also enabled some early investors to exit with significant returns, underscoring the strong appetite shown by institutional players to invest in the company’s next chapter.
