Misumi launches Misumi Americas as part of $1 billion global manufacturing investment

June 5, 2026 by Sam Francis

Japanese industrial components supplier Misumi Group has launched Misumi Americas and announced a $1 billion (¥150 billion) global investment program aimed at expanding its digital manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.

The initiative combines Misumi’s industrial components business with the AI-powered manufacturing platform acquired through Fictiv, positioning the company as a broader manufacturing and supply chain partner rather than solely a parts supplier.

The expansion includes significant investment in the United States and marks the appointment of Dave Evans as the first American CEO of Misumi Americas. [Read more…] about Misumi launches Misumi Americas as part of $1 billion global manufacturing investment

Why Precision Swiss Machining is Critical to the Future of Robotics and Automation

June 3, 2026 by Sam Francis

The rapid growth of robotics, factory automation, and intelligent manufacturing systems is transforming industrial production worldwide.

Modern manufacturing environments increasingly rely on highly precise mechanical systems capable of operating continuously with minimal deviation, especially as automation technologies become more advanced and interconnected.

From collaborative robots and automated assembly systems to sensor-driven manufacturing equipment, precision-engineered components are now fundamental to industrial automation performance. [Read more…] about Why Precision Swiss Machining is Critical to the Future of Robotics and Automation

Humanoid and Schaeffler strike deal to deploy thousands of humanoid robots in factories

May 13, 2026 by David Edwards

Humanoid, a UK-based AI and robotics company, has signed a binding, phased deployment and supply agreement with Schaeffler, a leading motion technology company, to integrate humanoid robots directly into live manufacturing operations.

The first systems go live in Germany before the end of 2026. Humanoid will also purchase actuators from Schaeffler as a preferred supplier.

The agreement is one of the largest disclosed humanoid robot rollouts ever announced and positions Humanoid, founded by Artem Sokolov in 2024, among the youngest companies to secure a large-scale contract at this level. It targets deployment of a four-digit number of wheeled units across Schaeffler’s global facilities by 2032. Interview: Jabil on scaling humanoid robots from prototype to production

April 16, 2026 by David Edwards

Humanoid robots have long captured the imagination of the robotics industry, often framed as the next major leap in automation.

But as the technology begins to move out of research labs and into real-world environments, the conversation is shifting. The question is no longer simply what these machines can do, but whether they can be built, deployed, and maintained at scale.

That shift brings companies like Jabil into sharper focus. While not a traditional robotics developer, Jabil operates as a large-scale manufacturing and supply chain partner, working behind the scenes to turn complex product designs into commercially viable systems. The Role of an Offset Striking Wrench in Modern Robotics

April 16, 2026 by David Edwards

Modern robotics is often associated with advanced software, artificial intelligence, and precision automation. However, behind every robotic system lies a foundation of mechanical engineering, where robust tools still play a critical role.

Among these tools, the offset striking wrench stands out as an essential instrument in assembly, maintenance, and heavy-duty robotic applications. [Read more…] about The Role of an Offset Striking Wrench in Modern Robotics

How Precision Machining is Powering the Future of Innovation

April 14, 2026 by Sam Francis

If you’ve ever wondered what actually goes into building an aircraft engine part or a robotic joint that works perfectly every single time, the answer almost always comes back to precision machining.

It’s not the flashiest topic in manufacturing, but it’s quietly responsible for why so many modern technologies can exist at all. CNC machining has evolved dramatically over the past decade, and shops like XTJ CNC in Carmel, Indiana are a good example of where things stand today.

This piece covers what precision machining looks like now, how it connects to robotics and automation, and what’s coming next. [Read more…] about How Precision Machining is Powering the Future of Innovation

Global humanoid robot installations reach 16,000 units as commercial deployments accelerate

January 30, 2026 by Sam Francis

The global humanoid robot market moved closer to large-scale commercialization in 2025, with installations reaching an estimated 16,000 units worldwide, according to new data from Counterpoint Research.

China accounted for more than 80 percent of all humanoid robot installations during the year, underlining the country’s dominant role in early deployments. Adoption was driven primarily by use cases in logistics, manufacturing, automotive, research, and data collection, the research firm said. Why Adhesive Bead Consistency Breaks Reliability in Automated Assembly

December 29, 2025 by Sam Francis

If you’ve ever chased a “random” leak or rattle on a line, there’s a good chance the root cause wasn’t the part. It was the bead. A few tenths of a millimeter in height, a skipped corner, or a start/stop blob can turn a solid design into a warranty headache.  [Read more…] about Why Adhesive Bead Consistency Breaks Reliability in Automated Assembly

Why Precision Components are the Unsung Heroes of the Autonomous Revolution

December 29, 2025 by Sam Francis

Autonomous technology is rapidly transforming the world around us. Self-driving cars navigate bustling streets, drones deliver packages with remarkable accuracy, and robotic systems perform tasks humans once thought impossible.

While AI and software often take center stage, there’s another critical element quietly making these innovations possible: precision components.

These components may seem small or ordinary, but they are the backbone of every autonomous system. Engineers rely on CNC machining services to produce these parts with exacting tolerances. [Read more…] about Why Precision Components are the Unsung Heroes of the Autonomous Revolution
