Top 20 industrial software suppliers: There’s an app for that

April 24, 2025 by Mark Allinson

As the manufacturing sector transforms under the weight of digitalisation, software has become just as critical as machines on the factory floor.

Industrial companies are increasingly reshaping themselves as software-driven organizations, not only offering physical products but also integrated digital solutions that optimize everything from design and planning to execution and maintenance.

This trend is far from new, but it is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. The growing reliance on software platforms such as PLM, MES, SCADA, ERP, and factory automation systems is fueling the evolution of smart factories and the wider Industry 4.0 movement. Bosch targets €1 billion in annual sales from factory automation software

April 23, 2025 by Sam Francis

Bosch is continuing its software offensive. The technology company’s Industrial Technology business sector is pursuing ambitious goals: by the beginning of the next decade, it wants its sales revenue from software and software-related services to have reached around €1 billion.

“Bosch is one of the world’s biggest manufacturing companies. We know factories like the back of our hand. This know-how flows into our software development. Our solutions are made by users for users, since we also use our software in our own plants,” says Dr. Tanja Rueckert, member of the board of management of Robert Bosch whose responsibilities include the Industrial Technology business sector.

This business sector comprises Bosch Rexroth, Bosch Manufacturing Solutions, and Bosch Connected Industry. Bosch has the expertise and knowledge to make fully software-assisted manufacturing a reality. [Read more…] about Bosch targets €1 billion in annual sales from factory automation software

Top 20 product lifecycle management software providers in 2025

April 22, 2025 by Sam Francis

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a strategic process and suite of software applications used to manage a product’s entire journey – from initial concept and design, through development and manufacturing, to service, maintenance, and eventual recycling.

PLM systems integrate people, data, processes, and business systems, providing a backbone for product-related information and decision-making across the enterprise.

The origins of PLM can be traced back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, when major aerospace and automotive manufacturers began adopting digital tools to manage complex design data across long development cycles. [Read more…] about Top 20 product lifecycle management software providers in 2025

Real Wins: How You Can Use Technology to Streamline Guard Services

April 12, 2025 by Mark Allinson

You already know how messy it can get if you’re still using paper timesheets or cobbled-together spreadsheets to manage your team’s pay. Late submissions, missed hours, and manual errors all add to frustration for both you and your guards.

One small-to-midsize security company felt the same pain until it implemented payroll automation for security, which genuinely worked.

Instead of relying on handwritten logs or scattered punch-in systems, they introduced a simple mobile time-tracking tool. Guards could clock in from their phones, and all that data synced directly to their payroll processing. [Read more…] about Real Wins: How You Can Use Technology to Streamline Guard Services
