Path Robotics unveils mobile robotic welding system combining AI and quadruped mobility

Path Robotics, a developer of physical AI for manufacturing, has announced the launch of Rove, a mobile robotic welding system that pairs the company’s Obsidian physical AI model with a quadruped robot.

The launch marks a major expansion for Path Robotics – where Obsidian already delivers autonomous, adaptive welding inside fixed cells, Rove extends that capability to the field, bringing intelligent welding to the part rather than the part to the workpiece.

Shipbuilding, heavy construction, and large-scale fabrication face a shared constraint: massive assemblies, inconsistent fit-up, and workpieces that cannot be moved, let alone fixtured inside of a welding cell. Comau and Reis Robotics partner to deliver advanced automation systems across key industrial sectors

Comau and Reis Robotics have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at jointly developing and delivering advanced automation products and solutions for multiple industrial sectors through a coordinated technical and commercial approach.

The agreement signed today by Comau and Reis Robotics, respectively Italian and German companies, testifies to the strength of the European technology framework in advanced industrial development.

HD Hyundai selects Siemens Xcelerator for integrated digital shipbuilding platform

Europe’s largest engineering company, Siemens, has been selected by HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediary holding company of HD Hyundai, as a preferred partner to establish an integrated platform to manage the entire shipbuilding process as a single data flow to help ensure consistency across all its global shipyard facilities.

The planned platform will form the core foundation of HD Hyundai’s “Future of Shipyard” project, a future-oriented shipyard that it aims to complete by 2030.

The project forms part of HD Hyundai’s ongoing efforts to address data discontinuities that have existed across ship design and production processes and to establish a more structured, digitally enabled shipbuilding environment. Comau showcases welding and robotics portfolio at Schweissen & Schneiden 2025

Comau used this year’s Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair in Essen to showcase a wide range of welding and robotics technologies, including collaborative robots, wearable exoskeletons, mobile welding systems, and advanced training platforms.

The Italian automation company presented its portfolio at Booth C27 in Hall 2, positioning itself as a supplier of both industrial and collaborative solutions designed to improve productivity and flexibility across different sectors.

Among the systems on display was a new arc welding cell built around the company’s S-Series robot, in its 18 kg payload version (S-18). Comau said the robot was designed for high performance and precision in space-constrained industrial environments. Techman Robotics, CSBC and AMET to jointly develop welding solutions for shipbuilding

Taiwan’s leading collaborative robot manufacturer Techman Robot, Taiwan’s largest shipbuilding company Taiwan International Shipbuilding (CSBC), and the US leader in smart welding technology AMET, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 

The three parties will work together to develop robots that are more suitable for shipbuilding environments, promote the intelligent transformation of the shipbuilding industry, and improve welding efficiency and quality.
