Nidec to expand manufacturing presence in Henderson County

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Nidec officials announced that the company is expanding its manufacturing operations in Henderson County, North Carolina.

Nidec Power, a division of Nidec Motor Corporation, designs and manufactures advanced alternators used in critical power generation applications such as data centers, hospitals, defense and more.

The company will invest $52.4 million to expand operations in its existing Lexington, Tennessee, facility, creating 200 new jobs and enhancing production efficiency and capacities to support the increasing electricity demand in the US and abroad. Amkor Technology to expand investment in Arizona campus to $7 billion

Amkor Technology, a provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, in collaboration with the Trump Administration, has announced the groundbreaking and expanded planned investment of its new state-of-the-art outsourced semiconductor advanced packaging and test campus in Arizona.

The expanded investment includes additional cleanroom space and a second greenfield packaging and test facility, increasing total project investment by more than $5 billion, to a total of $7 billion across two phases.

Machina Labs launches custom automotive manufacturing platform with AI and robotics

Machina Labs, a provider of advanced manufacturing and robotics systems, has unveiled its next-generation manufacturing methods for automotive body panels and accessories.

This will enable automakers to bring customized vehicles to market at mass-production prices, representing a breakthrough in automotive manufacturing customization.

Amgen to invest $650 million to expand US manufacturing

Amgen, an American multinational biopharmaceutical company, has announced a $650 million expansion of its US manufacturing network, creating hundreds of new jobs.

The planned investment will support increased drug production at the company’s biologics manufacturing facility in Juncos and integrate innovative advanced technologies throughout the operations process. It is expected to create nearly 750 jobs, including construction roles and new highly skilled manufacturing jobs.

Rockwell Automation builds ‘food industry’s first fully automated bacon production line’ for Middleby

Rockwell Automation, which claims to be the world’s largest industrial automation and digital transformation company, has been selected by Middleby Food Processing to help develop “the food industry’s first fully automated bacon production line”.

The innovation was unveiled at the recent IFFA trade show Frankfurt, Germany.

As demand grows for more efficient, flexible and sustainable food processing solutions, Middleby Food Processing turned to Rockwell to deliver a unified automation platform capable of transforming production.

Mecalux powers Coca-Cola’s beverage storage with pallet shuttle technology

Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland, the strategic bottling partner for The Coca-Cola Company, has installed a new finished-goods warehouse with Mecalux’s semi-automated Pallet Shuttle system in Lisburn (Northern Ireland).

This solution provides high-density storage, direct access to 9,000 pallets and strict inventory control, supporting distribution to the island of Ireland.

Mars to invest €1 billion to boost manufacturing across the EU

Mars, the confectionary and food products manufacturing giant, says it plans to invest €1 billion in its European Union operations by the end of 2026.

The company says the investment is aimed at strengthening the region’s manufacturing capabilities, sustainability and innovation pipeline, and increasing its economic resilience.

MicroFactory raises $1.5 million to scale ‘general-purpose robot’ for manufacturing

MicroFactory, a robotics startup specializing in how manual labor gets automated, has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding from a set of visionary backers.

The backers include Clement Delangue, the founder of Hugging Face, and Naval Ravikant, early investor in Uber and Twitter. This gives the company a post-money cap of $30 million.

$50 million funding sparks ‘manufacturing technology breakthroughs’ in Ontario

Companies in four key sectors of Ontario’s economy – advanced manufacturing, agri-food, mining and construction – have been given a significant boost, thanks to a $50 million funding and support program by the Ontario government, led by the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI).

One year after its launch, OCI’s Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) program – which includes up to $1 million for company collaborations and $100,000 for individual businesses to support research and development, equipment purchases, product testing, talent, upskilling and reskilling – has fast-tracked the commercialization of more than 100 emerging technologies that are helping to advance Ontario’s manufacturing competitiveness on the global stage.
