How Automation and Smart Software Are Solving the Biggest Challenges in EV Charging Infrastructure

December 24, 2025 by David Edwards

In the effort to build reliable, scalable EV charging infrastructure that truly meets driver, fleet, and grid expectations, automation and smart EV charging software are both playing central roles.

As networks expand, only software‑driven, automation‑first approaches keep operations efficient, profitable, and ready for new models like vehicle‑to‑grid. [Read more…] about How Automation and Smart Software Are Solving the Biggest Challenges in EV Charging Infrastructure

The future of industrial robot programming: Easier, faster, more intuitive

December 20, 2025 by David Edwards

For decades, industrial robots have grown steadily more capable. Modern robot arms can move faster, more smoothly and more precisely than ever before, executing complex, multi-axis motion with sub-millimetre repeatability in harsh industrial environments.

Yet for many manufacturers, programming these machines remains one of the biggest obstacles to wider automation. The issue is not that robot software is inherently weaker than robot hardware, nor that robots are approaching human-level dexterity.

Rather, it is that the ways humans interact with industrial robots have not kept pace with the mechanical capabilities of the machines themselves.

As factories face labour shortages, shorter product cycles and rising product variation, this mismatch between robot potential and programming effort is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. [Read more…] about The future of industrial robot programming: Easier, faster, more intuitive

Siemens launches PAVE360 Automotive to accelerate software-defined vehicle development

December 19, 2025 by David Edwards

Siemens, an industrial technology company, unveiled its PAVE360 Automotive technology, a new category of digital twin software that is pre-integrated and designed as an off-the-shelf offering to address the escalating complexity of automotive hardware and software integration.

PAVE360 Automotive empowers automotive manufacturers and suppliers to speed the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) with early full-system, virtual integration that mirrors real vehicle hardware and accelerates both application and low-level software development for ADAS, AD and IVI.

This removes the need for customers to build their own digital twins before testing software and significantly reducing time to market for critical applications – from months to days. [Read more…] about Siemens launches PAVE360 Automotive to accelerate software-defined vehicle development

Abu Dhabi fund to invest up to $35 million in Machina Labs project

December 11, 2025 by David Edwards

Strategic Development Fund, an Abu Dhabi-based investment entity wholly owned by EDGE Group, has announced the signing of an initial partnership and investment agreement with Machina Labs, a US-based specialist in next-generation AI-driven manufacturing and robotics, following discussions finalized at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

This collaboration between the parties establishes a framework to work towards creating a joint venture focusing on the production of advanced metal structures in the region using Machina Labs’ intelligent, software-defined factory technology.

This agreement is reinforced by an initial investment with additional funding by SDF that may reach up to AED 125 million (approximately $35 million) as both companies evaluate opportunities to deploy Machina Labs’ manufacturing capabilities in the UAE and region.  [Read more…] about Abu Dhabi fund to invest up to $35 million in Machina Labs project

Which AI Humanizer Tool Performs Best in 2026

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

Artificial intelligence now powers an enormous share of digital content creation across engineering firms, robotics companies, manufacturing environments, and automated service operations.

As these systems produce more text, organizations increasingly rely on AI content classifiers to determine whether a document was written by a machine or a person.

In response, a range of rewriting platforms – commonly called AI humanizers – have emerged to help produce more natural, human-sounding language. [Read more…] about Which AI Humanizer Tool Performs Best in 2026

Autolane raises $7.4 million and introduces curbside operating system for autonomous vehicles at Simon centers

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

Autolane, a developer of autonomous vehicle infrastructure, has announced $7.4 million in funding co-led by Draper Associates and Hyperplane, with participation from LAUNCH and Feld Ventures. Additionally, Autolane is deploying its curbside operating system at four Simon Malls and properties in Texas and California.

The funding will accelerate Autolane’s deployment across the retail, restaurant, and commercial property sectors. The technology supports both autonomous ride-hailing services like Waymo and Tesla Robotaxi, as well as autonomous delivery vehicles serving retailers and restaurants within the shopping centers.

Since launching its first full-scale test site in the San Francisco Bay Area in May 2025, Autolane has demonstrated that dedicated autonomous vehicle infrastructure can reduce curbside pickup times by 50 percent or more via operational efficiencies in order communication, handoff, and execution.
