How Modern Software Helps Construction Companies in Qatar Work Smarter and Safer

July 3, 2026 by Sam Francis

Qatar is a country of ambitious goals and impressive achievements, where there is no upper limit for excellence now. The statement is relevant across all industries, while some of them set much higher standards compared with the rest of the world.

Construction projects are challenging per se, yet given the ambitious goals of Qatar companies, managing construction projects is complicated and needs precision in every detail.

In this context, cutting-edge software technologies matter a lot, allowing for a sufficient degree of predictability and precision in all construction projects. [Read more…] about How Modern Software Helps Construction Companies in Qatar Work Smarter and Safer

Graitec outlines AI roadmap focused on accountability in engineering and construction

June 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Software provider Graitec has unveiled a three-stage artificial intelligence strategy aimed at the architecture, engineering, construction and operations (AECO) sector, arguing that the industry’s biggest challenge is not generating content with AI but ensuring the results can be trusted in real-world projects.

The company says it is embedding AI directly into engineering, fabrication and construction workflows rather than treating it as a standalone assistant layered on top of existing design software.

The announcement comes as AI adoption accelerates across the built environment sector, where engineers and contractors face growing pressure to improve productivity while maintaining compliance with design standards, safety regulations and project requirements. Large Portuguese building 3D printed in record 9 Days

June 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Portuguese construction 3D printing company Havelar has delivered a public building for the municipality of Matosinhos using construction 3D printing technology.

The project, a 500 m² (5,400 ft²) recycling center office at the Ecocentro de Perafita in Porto, was printed in 9 days on budget using a COBOD BOD2 construction 3D printer operated by a four-person crew.

The project demonstrates the benefits of construction 3D printing for public sector applications. Public construction projects in Portugal have historically faced cost overruns, making the budget-accurate delivery of this project particularly notable. Improving efficiency in modern construction projects

June 4, 2026 by Sam Francis

You notice it early on a job site when efficiency starts to slip. Small delays often build into larger setbacks that affect the whole schedule.

In modern construction, you work in an environment where margins depend on timing as much as skill. Rising material costs and tighter deadlines push you to think more carefully about how every stage connects.

By improving efficiency, you don’t just speed things up – you reduce waste, keep teams focused, and make it easier to deliver projects that stay on budget without adding pressure to already stretched crews. [Read more…] about Improving efficiency in modern construction projects

Schindler expands elevator installation robot fleet as demand for construction automation grows

June 3, 2026 by Sam Francis

Schindler is expanding its global fleet of elevator installation robots as construction companies increasingly turn to automation to improve productivity, safety, and project delivery times.

The company has added two new units of its Robotic Installation System for Elevators (RISE), bringing its global fleet to seven robots operating across multiple international markets.

Since its launch five years ago, Schindler RISE has been deployed at 36 construction sites worldwide, installing approximately 50,000 anchor bolts while delivering time savings of up to 40 percent during elevator shaft preparation and installation.

How automation of building information modelling reduces risk in large-scale construction projects

March 5, 2026 by David Edwards

By Jesus Sanchez, president, Modelo Tech Studio

Construction projects of large-scale are complex in nature. Several stakeholders, project deadlines, regulatory demands, evolving designs, and vast streams of data create a climate in which risk is inevitable but manageable. It is here that Building Information Modeling (BIM) automation is revolutionary.

Automation of workflow in BIM environments enables construction companies to identify potential clashes in advance, enhance the coordination process, avoid cost increases, and reduce project delays considerably. Due to the complexity of the projects, construction companies are collaborating with BIM experts for strategic modeling.

Automation of BIM is no longer a choice in larger infrastructure, commercial high-rises, industrial facilities, and healthcare projects, but a risk mitigation factor. [Read more…] about How automation of building information modelling reduces risk in large-scale construction projects
