OpenMind releases new hardware-plus-software system to give robots and humanoids ‘real-world intelligence’

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

OpenMind has released BrainPack, which it describes as “a new hardware and software system that gives robots and humanoids real-world intelligence” – that is, perception, control, memory, and autonomy – all in a single backpack-sized platform.

BrainPack integrates advanced mapping, object labeling, privacy-protected vision, remote operation, and self-charging into one modular system. Built on the back of one of three of Nvidia’s most powerful processing units, OpenMind is setting the new bar for embodied AI.

It’s the same brain that has powered OpenMind’s now-viral demonstrations of self-charging quadrupeds, and it’s now available to developers, research labs, and early adopters worldwide. Bedrock Robotics begins supervised autonomous excavation on live construction sites as it moves toward commercialization

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

Bedrock Robotics says it has been conducting “the construction industry’s largest-known supervised autonomy deployment for mass excavation”, partnering with Sundt Construction on site preparation for a 130-acre domestic manufacturing facility.

On just this project alone, Bedrock’s autonomous systems have so far moved over 65,000 cubic yards by loading human-operated articulating dump trucks with the same workflow used in manual operations – a seamless integration that demonstrates a leap forward in commercial autonomous construction.

The company’s technology is now installed across multiple excavator models ranging from 20-ton to 80-ton machines, adapting its systems from compact units to large-scale earthmovers. SingularityNET launches ASI:Chain DevNet and Hyperon AGI framework to build open, decentralised AI systems

November 17, 2025 by David Edwards

At Web Summit Lisbon, the SingularityNET Foundation and its partners in the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) has unveiled ASI:Chain DevNet and Hyperon AGI Framework Alpha 1 – two open technologies that enable anyone to start building connected, human-like AI.

Together, they form an early, decentralised tech stack where tools can interoperate, progress is transparent, and no single company holds the keys.

Dr Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET and the ASI Alliance, says: “The Hyperon AGI Framework is a place for developers and researchers to experiment and collaborate in building the next generation of intelligent systems, and specifically to build towards AGI and ASI, using a variety of approaches: deep neural nets but also logic systems, evolutionary learning and whatever else their imagination cooks up.
