Tech company AVI-SPL launches autonomous Dallas-Houston freight operations with Volvo Autonomous Solutions

July 10, 2026 by Sam Francis

AVI-SPL, a global technology solutions provider, and Volvo Autonomous Solutions have started commercial autonomous freight operations between Dallas and Houston using the Volvo VNL Autonomous powered by the Aurora Driver.

The operations will support AVI-SPL’s transport of various audio-visual electronics, including a mix of new products and end-of-life equipment from which AVI-SPL reclaims precious metals as a part of its Electronic Recycling Program.

The collaboration reflects AVI-SPL’s continued investment in operational innovation and supply chain strategies designed to improve scalability, reliability, and long-term efficiency. Einride deploys autonomous electric trucks in Ohio freight corridor pilot

May 18, 2026 by David Edwards

Einride and EASE Logistics have announced the deployment of SAE Level 4 (L4) Einride autonomous trucks into proof-of-concept service between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio.

This deployment is an extension of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and DriveOhio’s Truck Automation Corridor Project, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and is designed to evaluate the impact of autonomous technology on operations, safety, and freight efficiency.

Operations will take place on EASE property and local public roads and will utilize two of Einride’s advanced L4 autonomous electric trucks, already successfully operating in real-world daily operations across the United States. Bot Auto completes driverless commercial truck delivery between Houston and Dallas

May 14, 2026 by David Edwards

Autonomous trucking company Bot Auto says it has completed what it describes as the first fully humanless commercial over-the-road truckload delivery in the United States, moving freight between Houston and Dallas without a driver, in-cab observer, or remote operator controlling the vehicle.

The Houston-based company said the autonomous truck completed a 230-mile overnight route from Riggy’s Truck Parking in northeast Houston to Safe Stop in Hutchins, south of Dallas, delivering a commercial shipment booked through logistics provider Ryan Transportation.

According to Bot Auto, the run was conducted without a safety driver onboard and without “low-latency remote human feedback”, which the company says differentiates the operation from earlier autonomous trucking demonstrations and pilot programs. The Rise of the Autonomous Network Control Tower: How AI is Becoming the Supply Chain’s Central Nervous System

May 7, 2026 by David Edwards

For a long time, visibility in the logistics industry has been focused on screens loaded with data, providing an almost real-time view into shipments in transit, anomalies or disruptions occurring along the way, the location of trucks and drivers in various parts of the country and the volume of shipments moving through the network.

But as the dynamics of the market continue to shift, simply seeing isn’t enough. Now, there’s a need for autonomous network control towers where AI not only provides visibility into what is happening but also proactively manages the supply chain.

This is precisely what Libera has built: a platform where AI becomes the operational brain of your entire logistics network. [Read more…] about The Rise of the Autonomous Network Control Tower: How AI is Becoming the Supply Chain’s Central Nervous System

Understanding Lease Agreements for Autonomous Vehicle Fleets

December 16, 2025 by David Edwards

As the world moves closer to the widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles, businesses are exploring ways to integrate self-driving technology into their operations.

One of the most efficient ways to deploy autonomous vehicle fleets is through leasing rather than outright ownership. Understanding lease agreements in this context is critical for companies to manage costs, legal obligations, and operational risks effectively.

A lease agreement is a legal contract between a lessor, who owns the asset, and a lessee, who seeks to use the asset for a specified period in exchange for payment. [Read more…] about Understanding Lease Agreements for Autonomous Vehicle Fleets

From Idle Trucks to Smart Fleets: The Real Impact of Telematics in the USA

December 16, 2025 by David Edwards

If you ask someone working in fleet operations today whether telematics matters, many would respond with a quick “yes”, but seldom stop to think how much difference it really makes.

A recent industry study found that more than 70 percent of fleets using GPS-based tracking and telematics for at least three years report that safety became the top benefit of their investment.

That doesn’t just reflect better paperwork or neat dashboards. It signals a shift: fleets are transforming from reactive cost-centers into proactive, data-driven operations. [Read more…] about From Idle Trucks to Smart Fleets: The Real Impact of Telematics in the USA
