Automated Tire emerges from stealth with robotic SmartBay tire service system

May 13, 2026 by David Edwards

Automated Tire, Inc. (ATI), a physical AI and robotics company modernizing the traditional automotive service bay, has announced its emergence from stealth and unveiled SmartBay, its industry-first, AI-powered robotic platform designed to execute automotive services, starting with tire changes, wheel balancing, and vehicle inspections.

With the SmartBay platform, automotive dealerships and tire and service centers can shift from inconsistent technician-driven processes to a technology-first system that understands, adapts and executes complex physical tasks in real time.

SmartBay uses advanced robotics, computer vision, and machine learning to generate the proper execution for each vehicle with precision, rather than relying on pre-programmed routines, which require manual intervention for outliers and real-world variables. Brain Corp reports strong results from AI-powered shelf-scanning robots at Czech retailer Albert

May 8, 2026 by David Edwards

Brain Corp, the real-world AI company, has released what it says are “highly successful results” from the expansion of its partnership with Albert to deploy AI-powered shelf scanning robots.

Albert is one of the leading retail brands in the Czech Republic and a subsidiary of Ahold Delhaize, and operates 350 stores nationwide.

Historically, inventory management at Albert has been a highly structured, daily operation relying heavily on manual execution. After replenishment cycles, empty shelves are scanned by store associates and managers to correct discrepancies in the system. Boston Dynamics integrates Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics model into Spot inspection platform

April 15, 2026 by David Edwards

Boston Dynamics has partnered with Google Cloud and Google DeepMind to integrate advanced artificial intelligence models into its industrial inspection platform, in a move the company says will significantly expand the capabilities of autonomous robots in real-world environments.

The collaboration brings Google’s Gemini and Gemini Robotics-ER 1.6 into Boston Dynamics’ Orbit software, specifically its AI Visual Inspection (AIVI) and AIVI-Learning systems, which analyze images captured by the company’s Spot robot.

According to Boston Dynamics, the integration is designed to enable robots to move beyond basic detection tasks and instead perform more complex reasoning about their surroundings. [Read more…] about Boston Dynamics integrates Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics model into Spot inspection platform

R3 Robotics secures €20 million to scale automated disassembly of electric vehicle systems

February 6, 2026 by Sam Francis

R3 Robotics (formerly Circu Li-ion) has announced €20 million in combined financing to industrialize automated disassembly of electric vehicle systems at scale.

The company has raised €14 million in Series A funding, co-led by HG Ventures and Suma Capital, with participation from Oetker Collection KG, the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), and existing shareholders including BonVenture, FlixFounders, and EIT Urban Mobility, alongside €6 million in European grants.

The funding coincides with the company’s rebranding from Circu Li-ion to R3 Robotics and a clear expansion of scope: from battery disassembly to automated dismantling of complete electric vehicle systems, including e-drives, power electronics, and other high-value components.
