Interview with Jun Wu of GMEX Robotics: ‘We provide an integrated terminal + brain closed-loop system’

June 5, 2026 by Sam Francis

Artificial intelligence may dominate the headlines, but the future of robotics will depend on much more than software alone.

While many companies are racing to develop foundation models and increasingly capable AI systems, others argue that the real challenge lies in combining intelligence with hardware that can operate reliably in the physical world.

One company taking that approach is GMEX Robotics, a Nasdaq-listed developer of AI-enabled robotic systems for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. [Read more…] about Interview with Jun Wu of GMEX Robotics: ‘We provide an integrated terminal + brain closed-loop system’

Serve Robotics expands beyond food delivery with autonomous laundry service

June 4, 2026 by Sam Francis

Serve Robotics has announced a new partnership with NoScrubs, a fast-growing on-demand laundry service, marking Serve’s first commercial urban delivery partnership outside of prepared food.

The pilot, launching this week in select Los Angeles neighborhoods, will use Serve’s existing fleet of autonomous sidewalk robots to deliver NoScrubs laundry orders directly to customers’ doors.

The commercial pilot extends Serve’s last-mile delivery opportunity into a new category of recurring local commerce. NoScrubs operates across seven major US metros. [Read more…] about Serve Robotics expands beyond food delivery with autonomous laundry service

Flytrex drones can now deliver two large Little Caesars pizzas to your door

May 14, 2026 by David Edwards

Flytrex, a provider of on-demand drone food delivery, and Little Caesars, one of the largest Pizza chains in the world, are partnering to expand drone delivery with a new drone capable of delivering dinner for an entire family.

Powered by Flytrex’s new Sky2 drone, customers can now receive two large pizzas and sodas in a single drone delivery, a first for on-demand food delivery by air.

Flytrex’s new Sky2 drone makes the partnership possible by carrying up to 8.8 pounds, the largest carrying capacity of any food delivery drone available today. [Read more…] about Flytrex drones can now deliver two large Little Caesars pizzas to your door

Bot Auto completes driverless commercial truck delivery between Houston and Dallas

May 14, 2026 by David Edwards

Autonomous trucking company Bot Auto says it has completed what it describes as the first fully humanless commercial over-the-road truckload delivery in the United States, moving freight between Houston and Dallas without a driver, in-cab observer, or remote operator controlling the vehicle.

The Houston-based company said the autonomous truck completed a 230-mile overnight route from Riggy’s Truck Parking in northeast Houston to Safe Stop in Hutchins, south of Dallas, delivering a commercial shipment booked through logistics provider Ryan Transportation.

According to Bot Auto, the run was conducted without a safety driver onboard and without “low-latency remote human feedback”, which the company says differentiates the operation from earlier autonomous trucking demonstrations and pilot programs. AutoFlight completes first 2-ton-class eVTOL tea delivery in China

April 24, 2026 by David Edwards

AutoFlight has successfully completed China’s first 2-ton-class eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft) dedicated spring tea transport trial in Guizhou, a mountainous province in western China.

The trial deployed AutoFlight’s CarryAll (V2000CG) – a fully autonomous, unmanned eVTOL aircraft – to transport fresh spring tea between Anshun and Guiyang, two Guizhou cities approximately 120 km apart.

The unmanned flight crossed rugged mountain terrain in just 37 minutes, a significant improvement over road transportation in the region, where winding mountain routes make timely delivery a persistent challenge. [Read more…] about AutoFlight completes first 2-ton-class eVTOL tea delivery in China

Amazon acquires delivery robotics startup Rivr to target ‘last-meter’ logistics

March 23, 2026 by Sam Francis

Amazon has reportedly acquired Swiss robotics startup Rivr Technologies, a company developing autonomous robots designed to deliver packages from vans to customers’ doorsteps.

The e-commerce giant has not issued a formal press release about the deal. However, it confirmed the acquisition in communications to delivery partners, saying it had “recently acquired Rivr”, according to reports by Euronews and other media outlets. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Rivr, an ETH Zurich spinout, develops quadruped delivery robots capable of navigating real-world environments, including steps, curbs, and uneven terrain. The machines are designed to accompany human drivers and handle the final stage of delivery – often considered one of the most time-consuming and labor-intensive parts of logistics operations. Autolane raises $7.4 million and introduces curbside operating system for autonomous vehicles at Simon centers

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

Autolane, a developer of autonomous vehicle infrastructure, has announced $7.4 million in funding co-led by Draper Associates and Hyperplane, with participation from LAUNCH and Feld Ventures. Additionally, Autolane is deploying its curbside operating system at four Simon Malls and properties in Texas and California.

The funding will accelerate Autolane’s deployment across the retail, restaurant, and commercial property sectors. The technology supports both autonomous ride-hailing services like Waymo and Tesla Robotaxi, as well as autonomous delivery vehicles serving retailers and restaurants within the shopping centers.

Since launching its first full-scale test site in the San Francisco Bay Area in May 2025, Autolane has demonstrated that dedicated autonomous vehicle infrastructure can reduce curbside pickup times by 50 percent or more via operational efficiencies in order communication, handoff, and execution.
