Einride and EASE Logistics launch daily driverless electric truck operations in Ohio

Einride and EASE Logistics have announced that the SAE Level 4 (L4) autonomous electric trucks are now live in daily freight operations between EASE warehouses in Marysville, Ohio.

The milestone builds on the companies’ May 2026 announcement and marks a new phase for the Truck Automation Corridor Project, a joint effort of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), DriveOhio, and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) to prepare Ohio and Indiana’s interstates for automated freight.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward the large-scale commercialization of SAE Level 4 autonomous electric freight transportation in response to industry challenges such as driver shortages and rising operating costs.

Atlas Energy Solutions has expanded its autonomous truck operations in the Permian Basin, advancing its commitment to unlocking energy by digitally transforming oilfield logistics.

Working with Kodiak AI, a provider of physical AI-powered autonomous driving technology, Atlas is expanding its driverless proppant delivery program to a second simultaneous load-out point along its 42-mile Dune Express sand conveyor system.

Tech company AVI-SPL launches autonomous Dallas-Houston freight operations with Volvo Autonomous Solutions

AVI-SPL, a global technology solutions provider, and Volvo Autonomous Solutions have started commercial autonomous freight operations between Dallas and Houston using the Volvo VNL Autonomous powered by the Aurora Driver.

The operations will support AVI-SPL’s transport of various audio-visual electronics, including a mix of new products and end-of-life equipment from which AVI-SPL reclaims precious metals as a part of its Electronic Recycling Program.

Parallel Systems raises $100 million to bring autonomous freight trains into mainstream logistics

Parallel Systems is developing what it describes as the world’s first autonomous freight train system, as the broader logistics industry increasingly shifts toward automated and autonomous transportation technologies.

The Los Angeles-based company has raised approximately $100 million to date and is currently conducting commercial testing of its autonomous rail vehicles in Georgia in partnership with Genesee & Wyoming under oversight from the Federal Railroad Administration.

Einride deploys autonomous electric trucks in Ohio freight corridor pilot

Einride and EASE Logistics have announced the deployment of SAE Level 4 (L4) Einride autonomous trucks into proof-of-concept service between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio.

This deployment is an extension of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and DriveOhio’s Truck Automation Corridor Project, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and is designed to evaluate the impact of autonomous technology on operations, safety, and freight efficiency.

Bot Auto completes driverless commercial truck delivery between Houston and Dallas

Autonomous trucking company Bot Auto says it has completed what it describes as the first fully humanless commercial over-the-road truckload delivery in the United States, moving freight between Houston and Dallas without a driver, in-cab observer, or remote operator controlling the vehicle.

The Houston-based company said the autonomous truck completed a 230-mile overnight route from Riggy’s Truck Parking in northeast Houston to Safe Stop in Hutchins, south of Dallas, delivering a commercial shipment booked through logistics provider Ryan Transportation.

According to Bot Auto, the run was conducted without a safety driver onboard and without “low-latency remote human feedback”, which the company says differentiates the operation from earlier autonomous trucking demonstrations and pilot programs.
