Richtech Robotics partners with Microsoft to advance agentic AI in real-world robotics applications

February 2, 2026 by Sam Francis

Richtech Robotics, a US-based provider of AI-driven robots operating in commercial and industrial environments, has announced a hands-on collaboration with Microsoft through the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Labs to jointly develop and deploy agentic artificial intelligence capabilities in real-world robotic systems.

Through close collaboration between Richtech Robotics’ engineering team and Microsoft’s AI Co-Innovation Labs, the companies worked together to enhance Richtech Robotics’ Adam robot with adaptive intelligence powered by Azure AI.

The collaboration focused on applying vision, voice, and autonomous reasoning to physical environments, enabling robots to move beyond task execution and support more contextual, conversational, and operationally aware interactions. Microsoft Research unveils Rho-alpha robotics model combining vision, language, and touch

February 1, 2026 by Sam Francis

Microsoft Research has announced Rho-alpha, a new robotics model designed to help robots understand natural language instructions and carry out complex physical tasks in less structured environments.

The model, derived from Microsoft’s Phi series of vision-language models, is being made available through the company’s Research Early Access Program. According to Microsoft, Rho-alpha is intended to advance a new generation of robotics systems capable of perceiving, reasoning, and acting in dynamic real-world settings.

For decades, robots have performed best in tightly controlled environments such as factories and warehouses, where tasks are predictable and carefully scripted. Recent advances in agentic AI, however, are enabling new “vision-language-action” models that allow physical systems to operate with greater autonomy. Universal Music Group partners with Nvidia on AI tools for music discovery and creation

January 28, 2026 by Sam Francis

Universal Music Group (UMG) entered into a collaboration with Nvidia earlier this month aimed at applying artificial intelligence to music discovery, fan engagement, and creative workflows, while maintaining what the companies described as a focus on responsible use of AI.

The collaboration brings together Nvidia’s AI infrastructure and research capabilities with UMG’s music catalog, which spans millions of tracks across genres and eras.

According to the companies, joint research and development efforts were intended to advance music discovery tools, support new forms of fan interaction, and explore safeguards around artist attribution and copyright protection. Interview with Kardome CEO: Teaching robots to hear like humans

December 30, 2025 by Sam Francis

For much of the past decade, progress in robotics and autonomous systems has been framed largely through vision. Cameras, LiDAR, and computer vision algorithms have dominated discussions around perception, mapping, and situational awareness.

Sound, by contrast, has often been treated as a secondary input – useful for wake words and basic commands, but rarely central to machine intelligence.

Yet hearing is arguably one of the most fundamental senses for understanding the world, particularly when it comes to language and interaction. Humans begin responding to sound before birth, learning rhythm, tone, and voice long before their eyes ever open. [Read more…] about Interview with Kardome CEO: Teaching robots to hear like humans

How robotics is becoming a branch of AI

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

For most of the modern industrial era, the hierarchy of automation was simple.

  • Automation meant machines reliably performing fixed routines.
  • Robotics was a sophisticated subset of automation – programmable machinery with sensors, motors and a defined task.
  • Artificial intelligence was something entirely separate: a software discipline concerned with logic, reasoning and learning.

But the boundaries that made sense for the last 50 years no longer describe the technologies emerging now. Robots are beginning to perceive, classify, and adapt. AI systems are leaving screens and entering machines. And a new phrase – physical AI – is gaining ground as researchers try to explain what happens when intelligence takes a physical form. Which AI Humanizer Tool Performs Best in 2026

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

Artificial intelligence now powers an enormous share of digital content creation across engineering firms, robotics companies, manufacturing environments, and automated service operations.

As these systems produce more text, organizations increasingly rely on AI content classifiers to determine whether a document was written by a machine or a person.

In response, a range of rewriting platforms – commonly called AI humanizers – have emerged to help produce more natural, human-sounding language. [Read more…] about Which AI Humanizer Tool Performs Best in 2026
