EY launches physical AI platform and opens new EY.ai Lab with Nvidia support

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

EY has unveiled a new physical AI platform developed with Nvidia technologies, opened a dedicated EY.ai Lab in Georgia, and appointed its first EY global physical AI leader, marking a major expansion of the firm’s robotics and automation strategy.

The company says the new platform is designed to give enterprises a structured way to implement and manage “an AI system executed by robots, drones, smart-edge devices and more.”

Built using Nvidia Omniverse libraries, Nvidia Isaac and Nvidia AI Enterprise, the system supports digital twins, robotics simulation and advanced AI workloads across industrial, energy, consumer and health sectors. AI-Powered VDR Market Insights: What Analysts Expect by 2026

December 3, 2025 by David Edwards

The virtual data room landscape is shifting quickly, and much of that shift is driven by artificial intelligence. As dealmaking accelerates and scrutiny increases, investors are favouring companies that use structured, AI-enabled workflows.

The global VDR market – valued at roughly $2.4 billion in 2024 – is forecast to exceed $7.7 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research. With the average cost of a data breach now reaching $4.88 million, organisations cannot afford weak security or slow diligence workflows.

If you manage a data room for investors or regularly participate in high-stakes transactions, the next 12-18 months will bring meaningful changes. This article outlines the market shifts analysts expect by 2026, how AI capabilities reshape investor workflows, and what buyers should look for when selecting the next generation of VDR platforms. SoftBank and Yaskawa partner to advance ‘Physical AI’ robots for office environments

December 1, 2025 by David Edwards

SoftBank and Yaskawa Electric have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop “Physical AI” and deploy what the companies describe as a new class of robots that combine advanced decision-making with flexible, multi-purpose physical capabilities.

The collaboration brings together SoftBank’s AI-RAN initiative and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) platform with Yaskawa Electric’s robotics and motion-control technologies.

According to the press release, the companies aim to accelerate the “social implementation” of Physical AI as Japan faces labour shortages, demographic pressures, and increasingly complex business operations. The great AI power grab: Does the world have enough energy to feed AI data centers?

November 30, 2025 by David Edwards

A modern hyperscale data centre can consume as much electricity as a city of 100,000 people. That was startling enough when these facilities mainly handled streaming, cloud storage and e-commerce.

But the rapid shift toward artificial intelligence – especially generative AI and large-scale inference – is driving energy consumption into unprecedented territory.

OpenAI, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Amazon and national governments around the world are preparing to build a new class of compute infrastructure: AI data centres, which are larger, hotter and far more power-hungry than anything the tech sector has deployed before. New MIT-Mecalux study finds ‘AI now embedded in 60 percent of warehouses’

November 28, 2025 by David Edwards

Research from Mecalux and the MIT Intelligent Logistics Systems Lab, based on a survey of 2,000+ logistics leaders, shows rapid automation and AI adoption, 2-3 year payback periods and rising demand for high-skill warehouse roles.

As retailers brace for the annual surge of Black Friday demand, a new study from Mecalux and the MIT Intelligent Logistics Systems (ILS) Lab at MIT’s Center for Transportation and Logistics reveals that the warehouses powering today’s global supply chains have entered a new era of intelligence.

The research, drawing on responses from over 2,000 supply chain and warehousing professionals across 21 countries, shows that artificial intelligence and machine learning are no longer experimental tools but core drivers of productivity, accuracy and workforce evolution. Honeywell and TotalEnergies pilot AI-assisted control room to accelerate shift to industrial autonomy

November 27, 2025 by David Edwards

Honeywell has announced a collaboration with TotalEnergies for the ongoing pilot of its AI-assisted Experion Operations Assistant at TotalEnergies’ Port Arthur Refinery in Texas.

The initiative aims to support and empower operators to make timely and informed decisions while also providing the opportunity to enhance operational autonomy.

Built on Honeywell’s flagship distributed control system, Experion Operations Assistant is an advanced AI-powered solution designed to transform the way operators monitor plant operations from the control room. 5 Ways Voice AI Automates 24/7 Internal Communications on the Manufacturing Floor

November 25, 2025 by David Edwards

Manufacturing floors never sleep. Machines keep running, shifts rotate, and information has to keep moving. Yet internal communication often depends on fragile systems, such as walkie-talkies, paper logs, whiteboards, and supervisors overloaded with responsibility.

The result is familiar to most plant managers. Delays. Confusion. Missed messages. Costly mistakes. In fact, poor communication is an invisible budget drain, which costs large companies an average of $62.4 million per year and mid-sized firms about $420,000 per 1,000 employees.

Voice AI is silently revolutionizing the way factories talk to themselves. Instead of fragmented tools, manufacturers are starting to apply always-on voice systems that listen, respond, and route information in real time. SingularityNET launches ASI:Chain DevNet and Hyperon AGI framework to build open, decentralised AI systems

November 17, 2025 by David Edwards

At Web Summit Lisbon, the SingularityNET Foundation and its partners in the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) has unveiled ASI:Chain DevNet and Hyperon AGI Framework Alpha 1 – two open technologies that enable anyone to start building connected, human-like AI.

Together, they form an early, decentralised tech stack where tools can interoperate, progress is transparent, and no single company holds the keys.

Dr Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET and the ASI Alliance, says: “The Hyperon AGI Framework is a place for developers and researchers to experiment and collaborate in building the next generation of intelligent systems, and specifically to build towards AGI and ASI, using a variety of approaches: deep neural nets but also logic systems, evolutionary learning and whatever else their imagination cooks up.
