Fort Robotics acquires Mapless AI to expand supervised autonomy and physical AI safety platform

May 28, 2026 by Sam Francis

Fort Robotics, the trust layer for physical AI, has announced the acquisition of Mapless AI, a Boston- and Pittsburgh-based leader in vehicle teleoperation and autonomy supervision.

The acquisition represents a significant commercial expansion of Fort’s Trust Platform, adding two critical new capabilities: remote human-in-the-loop teleoperation and onboard active safety.

By integrating these technologies, Fort expands its market offering from safety-certified machine control to a comprehensive architecture for supervised autonomy. [Read more…] about Fort Robotics acquires Mapless AI to expand supervised autonomy and physical AI safety platform

Mach secures $7 million seed funding and agrees partnerships to scale its off-road autonomy business

December 5, 2025 by David Edwards

Mach, a Tier 1 supplier of full-stack autonomy solutions for off-road equipment, has announced two concurrent milestones that signal a major acceleration in its commercial progress: the close of a $7 million funding round and key partnerships with leading original equipment manufacturers in agriculture, defense, and landcare.

The funding round was led by The Venture Collective (TVC), with participation from Next Level Ventures and Midwest Growth Partners. The capital will be used to scale production and support Mach’s growing ecosystem of more than 25 OEM partners, who are integrating Mach’s proven autonomy platform to deliver next-generation solutions to their customers.

Off-road industries face new challenges, including labor shortages and increased demands for safety and efficiency. Mach addresses these issues with a proven autonomy platform, boasting 500,000 driverless miles and 250,000 hours in the field. F-Prime’s ‘State of Robotics 2025’ report shows record $21 billion investment. But is it another bubble?

November 7, 2025 by David Edwards

Investment in robotics is projected to reach an all-time high of $21 billion this year, according to F-Prime Capital’s latest State of Robotics 2025 report – a jump fuelled by generative AI, defense spending, and merger-and-acquisition activity.

The report, which tracks venture funding, valuations, and exits across the global robotics sector, highlights a 150 percent increase in funding for so-called “general purpose robotics” – a category covering humanoids and AI-driven machines – rising from $2 billion in 2024 to $5 billion this year.

Defense robotics now accounts for 63 percent of total investment, helped by multi-billion-dollar deals such as Blue Halo’s $4.1 billion acquisition. [Read more…] about F-Prime’s ‘State of Robotics 2025’ report shows record $21 billion investment. But is it another bubble?

Palladyne AI and Draganfly partner to enable advanced autonomous operations and swarming capabilities

October 24, 2025 by Sam Francis

Palladyne AI, a developer of artificial intelligence software for robotic platforms in the defense and commercial sectors, and Draganfly, a developer of drone solutions and systems, are to collaborate to further enhance the capabilities of Draganfly’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms with Palladyne Pilot AI software.

Palladyne Pilot is an edge-based, platform-agnostic, intelligent swarming and collaborative AI software designed to transform multiple UAVs into a seamlessly collaborating team, all managed by a single operator who remains “on the loop”.

By employing sensor fusion from diverse sources, Pilot enables drones to independently and collaboratively track targets while dynamically interfacing with autopilots. [Read more…] about Palladyne AI and Draganfly partner to enable advanced autonomous operations and swarming capabilities
