Reliable Robotics conducts autonomous flight demonstration at Travis Air Force Base

May 19, 2023 by David Edwards

Reliable Robotics, a specialist in safety-enhancing aircraft automation systems, has provided a demonstration of its autonomous flight technology during the recent Golden Phoenix readiness exercise at Travis Air Force Base (AFB).

This exercise demonstrated capabilities that will help the United States Air Force (USAF) modernize and project safe, rapid, global mobility. During the flight, Reliable’s remotely operated aircraft system was engaged for an end-to-end automated mission including auto-taxi, auto-takeoff, climbout and auto-landing with an onboard test pilot.

Major Wesley Williams, Travis AFB Phoenix Spark Innovation Lab, says: “This signifies a historic milestone as an aircraft, under the guidance of Air Mobility Command airmen, autonomously taxied, took off, and landed at an AMC base for the first time. Modern cybersecurity solutions: SIEM or MSSP?

May 1, 2023 by Mark Allinson

What does SIEM mean?

SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) – the definition is that it is a software system that allows you to detect threats and respond to security incidents. It monitors data about security events in real time and provides a historical analysis from a wide range of sources that record events and contextual data.

More advanced SIEM systems and managed SIEM providers are able to combine events from different components of the IT system together to create a new higher-level event.

The main problem for security engineers is that there is too much data to be able to get even a rough overview. That’s why we need automation to distinguish those events that pose a threat or are otherwise interesting to our business from the multitude of events. Historical textiles in focus: IDS provides technology to preserve priceless artefacts

April 27, 2023 by Mark Allinson

New approaches to investigate damage due to environmental fluctuation on textile artefacts by image processing

Preventive conservation plays an important role in the preservation of art and cultural assets. In order to preserve their condition for as long as possible, it is essential to slow down ageing processes and evaluate factors that alter materials.

To do this, it is necessary to grasp and have an holistic understanding of the artefact. Cultural heritage science and engineering methods for understanding material behaviour require an interdisciplinary approach.

Textiles are among the most sensitive art and cultural heritage objects. In the course of their production and handling, their presentation and storage, they are often exposed to influences that can have a damaging effect.
