French robotics market expected to grow by 7,000 installations a year

February 16, 2024 by David Edwards

Under the impetus of the France 2030 plan and the impact of the various crises, French manufacturers are accelerating the automation of their production lines to gain productivity, efficiency and working conditions.

Proof of this is that the French market is expected to grow by 7,000 industrial robotic installations per year in the coming years according to the International Federation of Robotics.

In order to go further in optimizing the flows of their factories, a key competitiveness issue, manufacturers must today automate their intralogistics, “long considered the poor relation”, to improve the rate and quality of preparation of kits of parts intended for manufacturing orders, while reducing the arduousness of operations. Alstef automates Bank of France’s new banknote printing facility

February 16, 2024 by Mark Allinson

The Banque de France, or Bank of France, has launched a large-scale project to build a new plant in Vic-Le-Comte, France, which already houses a paper mill, creating a global banknote production hub at the cutting edge of technological innovation.

The new, highly secure building will house both printing and logistics activities. Process automation was entrusted to Alstef Group, who will supply a logistics system including a high-bay warehouse served by four stacker cranes within an automated “greenhouse”.

Flow management will be handled by a fleet of automated guided vehicles and/or autonomous mobile robots comprising 10 of Alstef’s “Turtle” AGV-AMRs Loadstar machines equipped with roller conveyors, as well as 10 GL 10.1 AGVs. ACC picks Segula to help build three gigafactories in Europe

March 16, 2023 by Mark Allinson

The European automotive market is rapidly electrifying, and the need for batteries to equip vehicles is increasing.

According to the European Commission, demand will increase 12-fold between 2018 and 2030.

This is a revolution for the sector, which is now relying on reindustrialisation and the development of a battery ecosystem sized to ensure the necessary production on the European continent.

This challenge has been taken up by Automotive Cells Company, a company operating in the world of battery technology for electric vehicles, which has selected Segula Technologies, which designs and implements industrial projects, to support it in its plans for three gigafactories dedicated to the production of cells and modules for electric vehicles.
