Optimizing WordPress Performance: Tips for Faster Loading Websites

April 2, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Among all the issues impacting website performance, slow website speed is a major factor leading to visitor loss on your WordPress site. Studies have shown that users are more likely to abandon a site if it takes more than a few seconds to load.

Moreover, search engines like Google factor site speed into their ranking algorithms, meaning a slow website can also hinder your visibility and SEO efforts.

Fortunately, for WordPress users, myriad strategies are available to optimize website performance and ensure lightning-fast loading times. [Read more…] about Optimizing WordPress Performance: Tips for Faster Loading Websites

Choosing a Robotic Spindle for Deburring

June 5, 2023 by Mark Allinson

By Mark Fairchild

Robotics integrators are finding an increasing need for robotic deburring systems, and for good reasons. Deburring is necessary for various fabricating operations, but attracting and retaining employees to perform the work is difficult.

Labor shortages are ongoing, and the National Association of Manufacturers reported that in 2022 there were 800,000 unfilled manufacturing jobs in the US, with 2.1 million predicted by 2030.

The nature of the deburring task is highly repetitive, dirty, and carries a risk of injury. Retaining personnel for such a strenuous, messy, and uninteresting job is challenging. Robotic deburring is an appealing option for these reasons, plus the results are more precise and repeatable. [Read more…] about Choosing a Robotic Spindle for Deburring

Drives for speed in intralogistics: Faulhaber explains the importance of drive systems in warehouse robots

May 20, 2023 by David Edwards

Competitive intralogistics requires extensive automation, something that is inconceivable without micromotors. Drive systems from Faulhaber are used for their ability to perform during sorting, transporting and with robotics solutions.

Suitable transport structures in intralogistics are a prerequisite in all industries in order to be able to withstand competitive pressure in the future.

An increasing number of work steps involved in storing items in warehouses as well as retrieving these items and preparing them for dispatch are being taken over by automatic storage and retrieval machines, driverless transport systems and intelligent logistics robots. ABB launches new version of its Swifti collaborative cobot

March 17, 2023 by Mark Allinson

ABB has launched the Swifti CRB 1300 industrial collaborative robot, which the company says “bridges the gap between industrial and collaborative robots”.

Combining class-leading speed and accuracy with expanded load handling capability of up to 11kg, the Swifti CRB 1300 can be used in a wide variety of production and product handling applications – from machine tending and pelletizing to pick-and-place and screwdriving.

Andrea Cassoni, managing director for global general industry robotics at ABB, says: “Our customers are looking to robotic automation to make their processes more flexible, efficient and resilient, helping to counter labor shortages by enabling their employees to perform more value-added work. Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder

February 13, 2023 by David Edwards

Carbon Robotics, an AI and robotics company specializing in agriculture, has introduced what it says is “the industry’s first LaserThinning capability”, continuing the “rapid innovation” of its LaserWeeder system.

LaserThinning targets areas where vegetable crops are purposefully overseeded and then thinned for optimal crop spacing, growth and yield. This is particularly valuable for farmers growing any direct seeded leafy green and cole crops – such as lettuce and broccoli.

By using lasers for thinning, the new solution does not require the use of any chemicals or manual hand labor, is unaffected by wind or moisture, and can be performed during the day or night. [Read more…] about Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder
