FORT Robotics extends physical AI safety platform with Nvidia Halos

July 10, 2026 by Sam Francis

FORT Robotics, the “Trust Layer” for physical AI, has announced joining the Nvidia Halos for Robotics ecosystem that’s bringing safety to autonomous robots.

FORT will demonstrate an agentic safety application built with the open source Nvidia Halos Outside-In Safety Blueprint this week at the Automate conference in Chicago and presenting in the Humanoid Robotics Pavilion with Nvidia on June 23rd.

The Nvidia Outside-In Safety Blueprint combined with the FORT Trust Layer extends robot perception beyond onboard sensors by using external infrastructure sensors and visual AI Agents to deliver real-time, safety-certifiable functional safety to maximize operational throughput. AI-powered robot automates Serrano ham labeling for the first time

July 9, 2026 by Sam Francis

Until recently, labeling Serrano hams, which is a must because it determines their progression through different aging and drying processes, was a laborious task. Since a robot could not detect the bones in the ham, human involvement was indispensable.

Now, a Spanish systems integrator has developed an AI-based robotic system capable of performing this task. The labels – up to 900 per hour – are injected by a Stäubli SCARA robot designed for hygiene-sensitive applications in the food industry.

It takes 10 to 18 months of drying and ripening for a delicious Spanish Serrano ham to be ready for consumption, and this process consists of several steps. A medium-sized Serrano producer can process more than 5,000 hams per day, so labeling them with the week, year, and batch number is a small but crucial step early in the process. People want robots in warehouses and factories, not hospitals or schools, Hexagon study finds

June 26, 2026 by Sam Francis

New findings from Hexagon’s global Robot Generation study show that both adults and children are open to robots at work, but are setting clear terms for where and how they should be used.

Asked whether they would prefer a human or a robot to handle specific workplace tasks, adults consistently chose robots for physical, repetitive, and hazardous work. 68 percent prefer a robot for lifting and transporting heavy items, 54 percent for carrying and delivering, and 52 percent for monitoring hazards.

Children follow the same pattern with even greater openness, with 69 percent preferring a robot for heavy lifting, and 59 percent for carrying and delivering. [Read more…] about People want robots in warehouses and factories, not hospitals or schools, Hexagon study finds

How Automation Professionals Are Future-Proofing Their Wealth

June 26, 2026 by Sam Francis

There’s a quiet anxiety spreading through tech offices right now. It doesn’t come up in stand-ups or sprint reviews. But it’s there, humming underneath the surface of conversations about layoffs, model updates, and quarterly restructures. People who spent years mastering automation tools are starting to ask a strange question: “Am I automating myself out of a job?”

It’s not paranoia. It’s pattern recognition.

Many RPA developers, AI trainers, and workflow engineers have watched entire departments get consolidated into a single script. They built the thing that replaced the team. And now they’re wondering who builds the thing that replaces them. [Read more…] about How Automation Professionals Are Future-Proofing Their Wealth

Can AI Predict Car Accidents Before They Occur?

June 7, 2026 by Sam Francis

Artificial intelligence has moved from research labs into everyday driving faster than most people realize. Modern vehicles already use AI to detect lane drift, judge following distance, and apply emergency braking before a driver can react.

The next question researchers are asking is bigger: can AI actually predict when and where a crash is about to happen, not just respond to one already in motion? [Read more…] about Can AI Predict Car Accidents Before They Occur?
