RGo Robotics and Theobroma Systems unveil new vision and computing solution for robotics

RGo Robotics, a provider of artificial perception for mobile machines, and Theobroma Systems, a Cherry Group company and a provider of system-on-modules and single-board computers for a wide range of applications, have launched an integrated solution powered by RGo’s Perception Engine on Theobroma’s Jaguar board.

The integrated solution is based on Theobroma’s new Jaguar Single-Board Computer SBC-RK3588-AMR. Jaguar has been designed and optimized, in terms of connectivity, real-time processing power, memory and energy efficiency for advanced robotics applications powered by AI and visual perception.

The integrated solution can be quickly and effortlessly integrated into a wide range of industrial robots such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), as well as professional service robots such as those used in transportation, hospitality and agriculture. Xponential event expects ‘elevated global presence in autonomous and robotics industry’

Xponential – or XPONENTIAL, as the organizers prefer it – the technology event for autonomy, is poised to further solidify its standing as the premier global gathering of industry leaders from April 22-25, 2024 in San Diego.

XPONENTIAL organizers, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and Messe Düsseldorf North America (MDNA), are forecasting an increase in attendance from outside the US compared to the 2023 show, which also saw a significant boost in international participation (a 65 percent increase over 2022).

International work puts robot avatars on the move

The term “avatar” might be most familiar as a picture used on social media, but in the technology world, it can mean much more. 

When James Cameron’s hit movie “Avatar” came to theaters in 2009, it introduced a concept already cooking in the technology community: for a connected operator to be able to fully remotely opperate the movements of a robot.

Black-I Robotics to showcase ‘breakthrough’ AI-based robot at Modex

Black-I Robotics will be participating in the premier materials handling industrial trade show, Modex, March 11-14, in Atlanta, the company’s CEO Brian Hart has announced.

Some 45,000 supply chain executives and staff attend the show, which features more than a thousand exhibitors showcasing their products for the logistics and manufacturing industries.

Kawasaki Robotics partners with Olis Robotics to offer remote monitoring and control of its industrial robots

Olis Robotics, a provider of remote error recovery systems for industrial robots, has agreed a new partnership with Kawasaki Robotics, one of the leading suppliers of industrial robots and automation systems.

The companies aim to offer their customers the ability to “restart production faster, reduce troubleshooting and downtime costs by up to 90 percent, and gain access to expert support quickly”.

Olis users connect directly to their robots through an on-premises device via a secure connection, avoiding the risks and complexities associated with cloud-based systems. Scythe Robotics to lead adoption of North American charging standard in outdoor power equipment industry

Scythe Robotics, the Colorado-based company developing advanced, commercial-grade autonomous solutions for the landscape industry, says it has adopted the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port for M.52.
