Cybernetix Ventures and Pittsburgh Robotics Network agree strategic partnership

Cybernetix Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on robotics, automation, and industrial AI, has agreed a strategic partnership with the Pittsburgh Robotics Network, as part of the firm’s long-term robotics cluster engagement efforts.

The partnership is a joint initiative to set Pittsburgh’s robotics startups up for success, and bring more of the cluster’s investable robotics opportunities to global markets.

Founded in 2021, Cybernetix works with robotics clusters around the world to elevate the most promising robotics founders and startups to the global stage, connecting them to the firm’s diverse ecosystem of potential customers, later stage investors, financial institutions, and acquirers.

Flexiv Robotics unveils gecko-inspired gripper and automated cleaning station

Flexiv, a developer of general-purpose robotics solutions, has improved its Grav Enhanced gecko-inspired gripper so that it can now be “quickly and effortlessly cleaned via the fully automated Cleaning Station”.

This powerful combination of gripper and cleaner provides the Grav Enhanced not only the ability to lift practically any object weighing up to 5 kg, but also a way of maintaining the gripper’s effectiveness even when manipulating objects covered with surface contaminants like dirt and dust.

Providing a truly general-purpose handling capacity, the Grav Enhanced and the Cleaning Station are set to significantly boost lifting efficiency and expand the utility of Flexiv’s adaptive robots across multiple sectors.

Richtech Robotics and Zipphaus to launch robot-operated cafes

Neura Robotics and Omron partner to develop cognitive robots for manufacturing industry

Nala Robotics and Re-Up partner to develop AI-powered robotic chef

Re-Up, a developer of AI-powered convenience stores and gas stations, says it will be installing autonomous robotic chefs at a variety of locations powered by Nala Robotics, an AI technology company specializing in the culinary industry.

The Wingman by Nala Robotics is an autonomous fry station that can easily be added or configured to any restaurant or commercial food service operation.

Flexiv Robotics and EsVata Shutters cut sanding times ‘by 80 percent’

Flexiv, a provider of general-purpose robotics solutions, says it enjoying a “successful collaboration” with EsVata, a manufacturer of window shutters, in ushering in a new era of sanding efficiency.

Deployed to EsVata’s California-based factory, Flexiv’s Rizon 4 adaptive robot has set new benchmarks for automated precision and efficiency in the previously labor-intensive material abrasion processes.

EsVata chose to integrate the Rizon 4 into their production line specifically to automate the time-consuming task of sanding window shutters.

European Union advocates for ‘responsible robotics development’

The European Union says it is aiming to support, develop, and benefit from advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve the lives of its citizens, businesses, and scientific communities, including the wider use of responsible robots.

However, the EU says that, for robots to be widely accepted in society, it’s “crucial to ensure they adhere to responsible robotics principles”.

Mitsubishi and Extend Robotics to roll out VR for industrial robotic applications

Mitsubishi Electric in the UK has partnered with Extend Robotics to support the scale-up of remotely controlled robots in non-uniform manufacturing operations.

Founded in 2019, Extend Robotics’ pioneering Advanced Mechanics Assistance System (AMAS) is a lightweight middleware enabling platform which combines real-time volumetric telepresence with interactive digital twin technology.

The resulting human-robot interface renders the workspace in 3D to provide authentic depth perception during teleoperation, while facilitating fast user gesture input to control the robot with low latency, even on low bandwidths. JHFOSTER acquires HTE Technologies

John Henry Foster Minnesota (JHFOSTER), a strategic collection of engineers, support and service teams, compressed air experts, and automation and robotics solutions provider, has acquired HTE Technologies, an automation supplier operating in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.

To be run as an independent division of JHFOSTER, the company will continue to serve its existing customer base, operate under its existing brand, and remain at its headquarters in St Louis.
