Nvidia showcases new robotics research on geometric fabrics, surgical robots, and more at ICRA

During the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) May 13-17 in Yokohama, Japan, many people will be discussing geometric fabrics.

Mishima Kosan partners with Ready Robotics to implement ForgeOS for simulation testing on the Nvidia Isaac Sim

Mishima Kosan, a diversified company with a strong presence in steel production, product manufacturing, and engineering services, has formed a strategic partnership with Ready Robotics, a pioneer in no-code software for industrial automation.

Pio brings warehouse robotics system to the US

Kawasaki Robotics unveils new collaborative robots

Kawasaki Robotics has unveiled its new range of collaborative robots (cobots) at the Automate event, recently held in Chicago.

Powered with partner Neura Robotics’ robotic assistant platform, the CL Series combines all the safety and intuitiveness that standard cobots are known for with a solid, robust design that unlocks the speed and productivity of industrial robotics to offer limitless user flexibility.

ForSight unveils robotic cataract surgery system

The first-of-its-kind robotic cataract procedure on a porcine eye was presented at the 2024 ASCRS Annual Meeting, by Dr David F. Chang, a renowned cataract surgeon and past ASCRS president, marking the debut of this technology at a professional conference in April.

During his Charles D. Kelman Innovator Lecture, Dr Chang discussed his experience using ForSight Robotics’ ORYOMtm Surgical Robotics Platform to perform a complete, remote robotic cataract procedure.

Bota Systems unveils ‘ultra-lightweight’ through-hole force-torque sensor for robots

Bota Systems, a provider of multi-axis force-torque sensors, has launched the PixONE, awhich it describes as “a cutting-edge through-hole sensor that integrates high-performance electronics within a compact, ultra-lightweight design”.

Designed for seamless integration into robotic systems, PixONE features a through-hole architecture facilitating internal cable routing to enhance robot agility and safety.

The PixONE sensor’s innovative hollow shaft design allows it to be seamlessly integrated between the robot’s arm and the end-of-arm tooling (EOT), maintaining the integrity of internal cable routing.

Sea Machines Robotics unveils new unmanned ‘workboats’

Sea Machines Robotics, a developer of marine autonomous technology, has launched “Selkie”, its latest innovation in unmanned surface vessels (USVs).

The company described the launch as “a momentous move that will further the flood tide of autonomous marine operations”.

The first model, Selkie 7, is a 7-meter USV powered by the company’s flagship SM300 Autonomous Command and Control system, Selkie represents a leap forward in autonomous technology and a new era of marine exploration and operations.
