Rapid Robotics and Universal Robots partner to fight labor shortages with fast collaborative robot installations

Rapid Robotics has formed a new partnership with Universal Robots in which the Danish collaborative robot producer will be supplying collaborative robot arms for Rapid Robotics’ installation of cobot work cells across North America.

As a proven manufacturer of high-quality, versatile robots, Universal Robots will enable Rapid Robotics to serve a greater number of customers and maintain the rapid deployment times they’ve come to expect even as Rapid Robotics continues to expand its national footprint.

Recycleye raises additional $17 million in Series A funding

Recycleye, provider of what it claims is “the most adapted and robust AI-driven solution for sorting dry mixed recycling”, has closed a $17 million Series A financing round, led by deep-tech venture capital firm DCVC.

Recycleye uses AI-powered waste-picking robots to lower the cost of sorting materials. This ground-breaking technology is turning the world’s waste into resource and delivering data essential for dynamic decision-making in a Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

Industrial robotics market set for ‘overwhelming’ growth to $96.82 billion in revenues by 2032

Sales in the global industrial robotics market are expected to total $33.75 billon by 2022, rising at a compound annual growth rate of 19.2 percent during the forecast period 2022-2028.

A 2022–2028 opportunity assessment and a global industry analysis are part of new market research on the industrial robotics market from Future Market Insights. The report analyses the industrial robotics market and makes significant forecasts for the years 2019 to 2029.

The industrial robotics market is projected to reach $96.82 billion by the end of 2028. Celera Motion unveils ‘world’s smallest’ servo drives

Celera Motion, a business unit of Novanta, has launched what it says are “the world’s smallest servo drives”.

Named the Denali Series, the new compact, ultra-fast servo drives are perfect for a variety of service robots, surgical robots, industrial grippers and lab automation applications.

Construction robotics company Kewazo raises $10 million in Series A funding

Kewazo, a construction robotics startup, has closed its $10 million Series A funding round, bringing the total funds raised to date to approximately $20 million.

The round was led by Fifth Wall, with notable participation from Cybernetix Ventures, Unorthodox Ventures as well as the construction software company Nemetschek.

Built Robotics acquires Roin Technologies to expand beyond autonomous earthmoving

Built Robotics, a construction autonomy company and inventor of the Exosystem, which “turns any excavator into a robot”, is acquiring Roin Technologies, the maker of the what is claimed to be the “first automated concrete power trowel”.

The acquisition will grow the capabilities of Built’s engineering team and accelerate key technological developments to expand automation beyond construction into new applications and markets.

Lockheed Martin Ventures invests in on-demand manufacturing startup Machina Labs

Machina Labs has completed an investment by Lockheed Martin Ventures (LMV), the venture arm of Lockheed Martin Corporation, a global security and aerospace company.

Machina Labs combines AI and robotics to rapidly manufacture advanced sheet metal products. This latest funding brings the total raised by Machina Labs to $21.8 million.

Berkshire Grey and Locus Robotics combine to offer ‘industry-first’ cross-platform robotic automation

Berkshire Grey, a provider of robotic solutions that automate supply chain processes, and Locus Robotics, a builder of autonomous mobile robotics for logistics and distribution warehouses, have agreed a partnership with the unveiling of their combined solution that integrates the Berkshire Grey Robotic Shuttle Put Wall (BG RSPWi) with Locus Origin and Locus Vector bots.

This “innovative integrated solution” uses end-to-end robotic automation solutions for retail and e-commerce customers looking to maximize their supply chain productivity and throughput while addressing growing labor shortages.

Flexiv partners with Handplus Robotics to offer new robotic solutions
