Navimow responds to growing hedgehogs safety concerns with AI avoidance technology

May 12, 2026 by David Edwards

A recent Guardian report has revealed concerns around wildlife and use of robotic lawn mowers. Recent studies have highlighted the threat lawnmowers pose to wildlife at night time, and as a result, the mayor of German town Lüneburg has called for a nationwide ban on night-time use of robot lawnmowers to protect hedgehogs and other small nocturnal animals.

With robotic lawn mowers becoming increasingly common across UK and European households, concerns around accidental harm to nocturnal animals, particularly hedgehogs, have intensified.

In response, Segway Navimow has developed advanced AI-enhanced obstacle avoidance systems capable of detecting and avoiding animals in real time. [Read more…] about Navimow responds to growing hedgehogs safety concerns with AI avoidance technology

Hello Robot unveils Stretch 4: A simply useful robot that puts people first

May 12, 2026 by David Edwards

Hello Robot, the team behind the Stretch mobile manipulation platform, have announced the release of Stretch 4.

Available now for $29,950, Stretch 4 is an open-source robotics platform designed for researchers, developers, and application engineers building the next wave of Physical AI applications for general purpose robotics.

“In the last few years, Physical AI has brought us videos of robots doing amazing stunts. But these videos are missing something critical – the people the robots are meant to benefit,” says Aaron Edsinger, co-founder and CEO of Hello Robot. Factory Automation: Bridging Promise and Real-World Production

May 12, 2026 by David Edwards

Walk into a modern shop floor and the contrast is immediate. Bright collaborative robot arms move with practised precision next to conveyors that have been running since the 1990s.

Touchscreen dashboards glow above workstations where an operator still keeps a grease-stained notebook with the real setup parameters.

That juxtaposition is the current state of factory automation: a layered environment where each new capability has to coexist with what came before. [Read more…] about Factory Automation: Bridging Promise and Real-World Production

The Convergence of AI, IoT, and Robotics in Modern Manufacturing

May 12, 2026 by David Edwards

Manufacturing had long relied on fixed schedules and manual control. Inventories were adjusted following shortages. Machines were repaired only after they broke down.

Production goals were frequently set on assumptions and not from real operational data. That model is changing quickly.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity along with robotics are propelling manufacturing into a more predictive configuration. [Read more…] about The Convergence of AI, IoT, and Robotics in Modern Manufacturing

Why I Started Testing Automation Scripts Through Residential Networks

May 11, 2026 by David Edwards

I’ve been building data collection tools for warehouse automation projects for about 18 months now. Price monitoring bots that checked component costs across supplier sites. Inventory trackers that scraped availability data every 4 hours.

And then everything fell apart.

You run a script 47 times in one afternoon from the same datacenter IP, and suddenly you’re staring at CAPTCHA walls or worse – silent bans where the site just serves you stale data while actual customers see the real inventory numbers. How to Shortlist Data Engineering Services Providers: A Side-by-Side Evaluation Guide

May 11, 2026 by David Edwards

Article Overview

  • Evaluate data engineering services by moving beyond price to focus on governance and low-latency logic.
  • Select data engineering companies that prioritize business outcomes and unit economics over simple data movement.
  • Audit data engineering services providers using side-by-side comparisons of technical depth and long-term infrastructure.

Why is your most expensive data infrastructure still producing your least trusted insights?

It’s the question that haunts the late-night project post-mortems. You’ve checked every box on the modern data stack; the cloud migration is complete, the lakehouse is integrated, and the RFP was won by a firm with a global footprint. Yet, when a real-time churn prediction is needed, your data scientists admit they’re working off a manual CSV because the automated pipeline is too brittle to trust.

The enterprise market is currently crawling with data engineering companies that are essentially just order-takers. They’ll win your RFP on price, check every box in your technical requirements, and then build a $2 million pipe to nowhere that lacks the governance or low-latency logic your AI strategy actually requires. How to Choose a Reliable Broker for Yacht Charter in Cannes

May 11, 2026 by David Edwards

Every summer Cannes fills up with yachts. Dozens of vessels berth in the old port, from modest sailing boats to gleaming white superyachts with helicopter pads. The city has long been one of the main hubs for Mediterranean chartering, and the sheer number of options on offer is enough to make anyone’s head spin.

The trouble is, finding a decent broker among all this turns out to be harder than it looks. You want someone you can trust with your money and your holiday, and that person isn’t always the first one in the search results. Some people end up dealing with resellers.

Others sign contracts without reading the fine print and are surprised later by hidden surcharges. Anyone planning a yacht charter in this region for the first time will benefit from a few practical reference points. And experienced renters won’t lose anything by running through the checklist again before they rent a motorboat in Cannes for a new season.
