Avoiding Catalytic Converter Theft: Ideal Tips for Keeping Your Automobile Safe

November 29, 2021 by Mark Allinson

A catalytic converter is one of the costliest parts of a vehicle. Many countries around the world have it within their laws not to allow any vehicle on the roads without a working catalytic converter. The exhaust fumes released by vehicles running on gasoline play a key role in global warming. Catalytic converters save us from this horror by negating the effects of these toxic gases. However, there is always a catch with such great benefits.

Catalytic converters, being as expensive as they are, is one of the key attractions for roadside thieves who are always on the lookout for precious materials to steal. The primary reason behind stealing these devices lies more in their composition than operability. The focus of this article is to make the public aware of the imminent danger they are facing from potential thefts. Fully automatic picking of unknown products from bulk material

November 23, 2021 by David Edwards

The goal: fully automated small parts picking.

In intralogistics, there has been a lot of hype about robots for some years now, whether in trade journals or at fairs.

Most of them are classic six-axis articulated robots that are looking for their way out of a production environment and into logistics.

The main driver here is the labour shortage, the big challenge not a technical component like the robot or the gripper, but the design of an overall economic process. [Read more…] about Fully automatic picking of unknown products from bulk material

11 Ways that Businesses Can Increase their Security

November 12, 2021 by Mark Allinson

The Internet can be a dangerous place. It’s true that many of the people who are online are good, honest citizens who mean no harm to anyone else.

There are some bad apples, however. There are criminals out there who want to do people harm through both physical and virtual means.

Everyone has all heard about viruses that silently attack computers without the owner’s knowledge or permission, about identity theft that costs innocent victims dearly, and about hackers intent on breaching any system they can find for reasons of curiosity or profit. TTTech Auto and Infineon design new chip architecture for highly automated driving

November 10, 2021 by Mark Allinson

TTTech Auto and Infineon Technologies have developed key components for a fail-operational electronic architecture for highly automated driving of SAE Level 3 and 4.

This enables the safe and reliable processing of, for example, radar or LiDAR camera sensor data and is targeting car and technology manufacturers. The fail-operational architectural concept and its key components ensure the safe operation of highway pilot functions, valet parking and autonomous truck driving in case individual functions fail.

The joint research contributed to the successful completion of the European PRYSTINE (Programmable Systems for Intelligence in Automobiles) project. With a budget of about €50 million, PRYSTINE aimed to realize safe automated driving by fail-operational urban surround perception.
