Kollmorgen performs 5G tests with Ericsson to explore autonomous mobile robot capabilities

February 8, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Motion control solutions provider Kollmorgen is currently performing 5G tests with Ericsson to explore the future capabilities of autonomous mobile robot of the type used in an increasing number of warehouses around the world.

5G can enable new levels of AI and Machine Learning, simplify requirements for infrastructure, and increase network stability – which could dramatically increase performance and cost efficiency for Kollmorgen’s partners, that today include six out of the top 10 global players in material handling, such as Toyota Material Handling, Jungheinrich, and Mitsubishi Logisnext (Rocla).

Peter Bladh, director research and development, Kollmorgen, says: “We want to continue to push the boundaries of mobile robot applications with our NDC Solutions platform. [Read more…] about Kollmorgen performs 5G tests with Ericsson to explore autonomous mobile robot capabilities

Fanuc launches new 1,000 kg payload industrial robotic arm

January 24, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Fanuc America, the world’s largest maker of industrial robots, has introduced the new M-1000iA robot capable of handling very heavy products including automotive components, construction materials and battery packs for electric vehicles.

The M-1000iA’s serial-link construction gives the robot a wider range of motion in every direction. It can extend its arm upright or rotate it backwards, which is not possible for typical heavy-payload robots with a parallel-link mechanism.

With a 1,000 kg payload, a 3,253 mm horizontal reach, and a 4,297 mm vertical reach the M-1000iA is ready to go to work for manufacturers looking to increase output and maximize their production line’s efficiency. [Read more…] about Fanuc launches new 1,000 kg payload industrial robotic arm

11 Ways that Businesses Can Increase their Security

November 12, 2021 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

The Internet can be a dangerous place. It’s true that many of the people who are online are good, honest citizens who mean no harm to anyone else.

There are some bad apples, however. There are criminals out there who want to do people harm through both physical and virtual means.

Everyone has all heard about viruses that silently attack computers without the owner’s knowledge or permission, about identity theft that costs innocent victims dearly, and about hackers intent on breaching any system they can find for reasons of curiosity or profit. Link Building Outreach: How to Run Successful Outreach Campaigns in 2021

January 15, 2021 by Polly 1 Comment

Link building is a process of creation, augmentation, and spreading of hyperlinks to a website.

The main goal of this process is improving search engine visibility. Hyperlinks (also known as “backlinks” or just “links”) are used to skip from one Internet page to another. Link building is one of the most effective and productive ways of SEO optimization.

It is necessary to differentiate a process of link purchasing from link building. Buying a link can be faster than building it, but a purchased link would not be qualitative enough. [Read more…] about Link Building Outreach: How to Run Successful Outreach Campaigns in 2021

Last year ABB received an order worth around $140 million from transmission system operators Energinet.dk in Denmark and 50Hertz Transmission in Germany to design, supply and install an HVDC converter station in Bentwisch, Northern Germany.

Converter station upgrade to improve power reliability of 46-year-old Pacific Intertie power link

ABB has won an order worth more than $100 million from the US utility Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, to modernize the existing Sylmar high-voltage direct current converter station in California.

This station is an important part of the electricity link between the Pacific Northwest and southern California commissioned in 1970. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The Sylmar converter station, located to the north of Los Angeles, is the southern station of the Pacific Intertie, a 1,360 kilometer HVDC link that connects to the Celilo converter station near the Columbia River, Oregon.  [Read more…] about ABB wins $100 million order to upgrade historic power link In California
