Nvidia unveils ‘blueprint’ for developing industrial robot fleets

January 10, 2025 by David Edwards

According to Gartner, the worldwide end-user spending on all IT products for 2024 was $5 trillion. This industry is built on a computing fabric of electrons, is fully software-defined, accelerated – and now generative AI-enabled. While huge, it’s a fraction of the larger physical industrial market that relies on the movement of atoms.

Today’s 10 million factories, nearly 200,000 warehouses and 40 million miles of highways form the “computing” fabric of our physical world. But that vast network of production facilities and distribution centers is still laboriously and manually designed, operated and optimized.

In warehousing and distribution, operators face highly complex decision optimization problems – matrices of variables and interdependencies across human workers, robotic and agentic systems and equipment. Unlike the IT industry, the physical industrial market is still waiting for its own software-defined moment. [Read more…] about Nvidia unveils ‘blueprint’ for developing industrial robot fleets

Einride goes live in Norway to lead electric deployment of freight mobility

September 5, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Einride, a freight mobility company that provides digital, electric and autonomous technology, has launched its solutions in Norway, the country with the highest number of electric vehicles per person.

The announcement comes at a time when Norway has enacted new sustainability targets that are more ambitious than those laid out by the European Commission, striving for all new heavy vehicles in Norway to be zero-emission by 2040.

Despite being at the forefront of the electric revolution, with the world’s highest per capita number of EVs, heavy-duty vehicles in Norway still contribute to nearly 9 per cent of the country’s CO2 emissions, equivalent to 4.4 million tonnes of CO2. High-Tech Bots and Devices for Business Owners

October 26, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Hiring employees is one of the costliest moves any business owner can make. Along with the obvious monetary toll in the form of payroll expenses, there are other considerations.

Things like insurance, necessary office space, training, and other factors can add up fast. Maybe that’s why so many entrepreneurs and independent startup owners are seeking financial relief in the form of automation.

Companies of all sizes and in all industries can leverage the savings and increased efficiency that many forms of technology can deliver. Devices like video recorders are a huge help to transport companies that operate truck fleets. [Read more…] about High-Tech Bots and Devices for Business Owners

Advanced technology adoption will make Indian roads ‘accident-proof’

December 30, 2021 by Mai Tao

A relatively new company called Hi Tech Robotic Systemz (THRSL) says India’s Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s vision for Indian roads will make vehicles “accident-proof”.

In a recent meeting of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), the minister advocated for fixed driving hours for commercial truck drivers like that of pilots, as well as a policy mandating on-board sleep detection sensors in commercial vehicles to reduce road accidents in India and give relief to truck drivers.

The logistics sector, which is a key enabler and the backbone of any growing economy, is primarily dependent on drivers who operate for long hours in tough working conditions. [Read more…] about Advanced technology adoption will make Indian roads ‘accident-proof’
