AutoFlight advances heavy-lift eVTOL program with mixed-fleet formation flight

AutoFlight has completed a mixed-fleet formation flight of three aircraft, comprising one V5000 Matrix and two V2000-series eVTOL aircraft.

The mission validated critical capabilities – communication links, route planning, flight coordination and safety control – across 5-ton and 2-ton platforms, demonstrating that different aircraft types can operate together at scale.

It marks a significant step forward in AutoFlight’s system integration capabilities and lays the operational groundwork for multi-aircraft coordination in low-altitude logistics, emergency response, maritime support and regional air transport, and represents a concrete step toward the commercial deployment of coordinated multi-aircraft networks in the low-altitude economy. Joby and Skyports complete New York’s first point-to-point eVTOL flights to Downtown Skyport

Skyports Infrastructure, a vertiport development and operations company, has completed multiple point-to-point eVTOL flights to Downtown Skyport – New York’s first – during Joby Aviation’s “2026 Electric Skies Tour” New York City Flight Campaign, which took place between April 23rd-May 1st 2026.

Over the course of the week-long flight program, Downtown Skyport received 5 flights, also acting as the key location where Joby managed aircraft operations and charging in Manhattan.

Skyports to collaborate with City of Gold Coast to advance commercial advanced air mobility in region

Skyports Infrastructure, a vertiport development and operations company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Gold Coast, Australia to collaborate on implementing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) within the city.

The MoU was signed between Yun Yuan Tay, head of APAC, Skyports, and Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, at the City of Gold Coast Chambers.

As a part of the agreement, Skyports will lead the development of the vertiport network and the supporting vertiport infrastructure, including navigating the regulatory framework, supporting the planning pathways, scoping potential vertiport sites and engaging with land owners. AutoFlight completes first 2-ton-class eVTOL tea delivery in China

AutoFlight has successfully completed China’s first 2-ton-class eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft) dedicated spring tea transport trial in Guizhou, a mountainous province in western China.

The trial deployed AutoFlight’s CarryAll (V2000CG) – a fully autonomous, unmanned eVTOL aircraft – to transport fresh spring tea between Anshun and Guiyang, two Guizhou cities approximately 120 km apart.

Dubai air taxis prepare for lift-off: World’s first commercial vertiport reaches technical completion

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Skyports Infrastructure (Skyports) have announced that the world’s first commercial vertiport situated by Dubai International Airport has reached technical completion, and is now ready to handle electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Chinese company AutoFlight unveils ‘world’s first five-ton class’ eVTOL aircraft

Chinese startup AutoFlight has unveiled Matrix, the world’s first 5-ton class electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, which successfully completed a public full transition flight demonstration at the company’s low-altitude flight test facility center.

During the demonstration, where Matrix flew alongside AutoFlight’s 2-ton CarryAll cargo eVTOL, Matrix completed the full mode transition flight sequence, transitioning from vertical take-off through cruise flight to vertical landing.

The achievement validates AutoFlight’s eVTOL technologies across complex aerodynamic systems, high-power electric propulsion, and advanced flight control systems, marking the first time a 5-ton eVTOL has achieved full transition flight. Wisk completes first flight of Generation 6 autonomous eVTOL

Wisk Aero, an autonomous aviation company, has announced the successful completion of the first flight of its Generation 6 aircraft. The flight is a pivotal step forward in Wisk’s journey to deliver the first certified, autonomous passenger-carrying eVTOL to market in the US Wisk says it is the only company to have designed, built, and flown six generations of eVTOL aircraft.

The aircraft performed its initial vertical takeoff, hover, and stabilized flight maneuvers at Wisk’s flight test facility in Hollister, California.

This success validates the aircraft’s core flight systems and is a critical first step in an extensive testing campaign. Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit to focus on regulation, deployment and urban-scale rollout

Abu Dhabi has announced the programme for its first Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, a new high-level forum designed to shape global policy and industrial strategy for autonomous systems across land, sea, air and robotics.

The one-day summit, held on 10 November 2025, will open Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week – a six-day series of events that also includes the DRIFTx smart mobility exhibition, RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025 and the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL).

Organised by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), the summit aims to bring together policymakers, technology leaders and investors to translate regulatory frameworks into commercial deployment at scale. Vonaer to purchase 20 hybrid eVTOL aircraft from Plana

Advanced air mobility company Plana has signed a letter of intent to sell 20 hybrid eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft to Vonaer, a Korea-based air mobility service provider.

Under the agreement, Plana will supply Vonaer with five certified aircraft by 2033 and an additional 15 by 2040.
