Interview with Jun Wu of GMEX Robotics: ‘We provide an integrated terminal + brain closed-loop system’

June 5, 2026 by Sam Francis

Artificial intelligence may dominate the headlines, but the future of robotics will depend on much more than software alone.

While many companies are racing to develop foundation models and increasingly capable AI systems, others argue that the real challenge lies in combining intelligence with hardware that can operate reliably in the physical world.

One company taking that approach is GMEX Robotics, a Nasdaq-listed developer of AI-enabled robotic systems for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. [Read more…] about Interview with Jun Wu of GMEX Robotics: ‘We provide an integrated terminal + brain closed-loop system’

Unitree unveils new ‘Destiny Awakening’ humanoid robot

October 22, 2025 by Sam Francis

Chinese robotics company Unitree has introduced its latest humanoid robot, the H2, described as a “graceful rebirth” of industrial design and motion control.

Standing 182 cm tall and weighing around 70 kg, the H2 features a streamlined metallic frame built from aircraft-grade aluminum, titanium alloy and high-strength plastics.

It is powered by low-inertia, high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors that deliver up to 360 N·m of joint torque in the legs and 120 N·m in the arms, giving the robot impressive mobility and balance. [Read more…] about Unitree unveils new ‘Destiny Awakening’ humanoid robot

MIT research: Using generative AI to help robots jump higher and land better

June 16, 2025 by Sam Francis

By Alex Shipps, digital strategy coordinator, MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

Diffusion models like OpenAI’s DALL-E are becoming increasingly useful in helping brainstorm new designs.

Humans can prompt these systems to generate an image, create a video, or refine a blueprint, and come back with ideas they hadn’t considered before.

But did you know that generative artificial intelligence (AI) models are also making headway in creating working robots? Recent diffusion-based approaches have generated structures and the systems that control them from scratch.
