Schaeffler partners with Leju Robotics to advance industrial humanoid robots

Industrial motion technology company Schaeffler has entered into a partnership with Leju Robotics, a Chinese company in the field of humanoid robotics.

This is the first cooperation with a Chinese company, joining existing partnerships with well-known manufacturers in Europe and the USA, and represents an important step for Schaeffler in expanding its presence in the global humanoid ecosystem.

The aim of the cooperation is to advance the use of humanoid robots in industrial applications such as intelligent factory inspection, equipment operation support, logistics, and human-robot collaboration. KDDI and Avita partner to develop humanoid robots for real-world service roles

KDDI and Avita have announced a strategic partnership aimed at developing humanoid robots powered by what the companies describe as “Physical AI”.

The collaboration, announced March 2, 2026, will focus on building humanoid systems designed for real-world service environments such as retail, healthcare, entertainment and cultural venues.

Under the partnership, Avita will contribute expertise in avatar creation, conversational AI and remote operation technologies, while KDDI will provide communications infrastructure and data systems to support real-time operation of the robots. MassRobotics resident startups have collectively raised $2 billion in venture funding since launching in 2017. Resident startups have announced major funding rounds, new product launches, and key industry milestones so far in 2026, highlighting the strength of resident startups within the MassRobotics ecosystem.

PlusAI unveils new autonomous trucking software with night driving and construction zone capabilities

PlusAI has released SuperDrive 6.0, the latest version of its autonomous driving software engineered for commercial-scale deployment. The new release introduces crucial capabilities for commercial freight operations including night driving and construction zone handling.

Dexterity says its new world model delivers ‘major leap forward’ for physical AI-powered truck loading

Dexterity, a developer of physical AI powered industrial robotics, has announced a “major leap forward” in its Physical AI stack, anchored by Foresight, a state-of-the-art world model and a 4D box packing agent.

These advancements help solve some of the most physically demanding and hardest-to-staff tasks, such as truck loading. Alongside the announcement, Dexterity is also launching the Foresight API Challenge with up to $50,000 in prizes for student teams.

Foresight is Dexterity’s physics-consistent world model, a real-time, transactable representation of the physical environment that enables robots to perceive, reason, and act. HD Hyundai selects Siemens Xcelerator for integrated digital shipbuilding platform

Europe’s largest engineering company, Siemens, has been selected by HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediary holding company of HD Hyundai, as a preferred partner to establish an integrated platform to manage the entire shipbuilding process as a single data flow to help ensure consistency across all its global shipyard facilities.

The planned platform will form the core foundation of HD Hyundai’s “Future of Shipyard” project, a future-oriented shipyard that it aims to complete by 2030.

The project forms part of HD Hyundai’s ongoing efforts to address data discontinuities that have existed across ship design and production processes and to establish a more structured, digitally enabled shipbuilding environment. Symbotic acquires autonomous forklift company Fox Robotics as revenue and profitability grow

Warehouse automation company Symbotic has acquired autonomous forklift developer Fox Robotics, expanding its reach into dock automation and broadening its potential customer base.

The acquisition was disclosed during Symbotic’s fiscal first-quarter 2026 earnings call. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fox Robotics specializes in autonomous forklift trucks used to move pallets between warehouses and loading docks. According to Symbotic, the company has about 25 customers, some of whom are not currently Symbotic clients. Comau has launched the Mate-XT GO, the new wearable exoskeleton designed to support workers’ arms and shoulders during repetitive or overhead tasks.

Weighing less than 3 kg and easy to use, it can be put on in 30 seconds and taken off in just 10 seconds, allowing for easy integration into daily activities without interrupting workflows.

Deep Space Energy raises almost €1 million to generate electricity on the moon like it was normal

Latvian startup Deep Space Energy has closed its pre-seed round by raising €350,000, led by Outlast Fund and Linas Sargautis, an angel investor and a former co-founder of NanoAvionics.

The company also secured additional €580,000 in public contracts and grants by the European Space Agency (ESA), Nato Diana, and the Latvian government.

The funding will primarily be used to further develop a novel radioisotopic generator toward commercialisation, in a bid to strengthen the European sovereign space and defence industry and power Moon surface exploration.
