Neura Robotics and Drees & Sommer launch strategic partnership for robotics-ready buildings

Neura Robotics, a developer of cognitive robotics and physical AI, has agreed a partnership with Drees & Sommer, an international consulting firm for construction and infrastructure.

Together, the two companies aim not only to plan and operate buildings, but also to design them as learning, interactive systems and as environments that work together with humans and robots in real time.

Tennant Company, a manufacturer of industrial floor cleaning robots, has acquired Clean Machine Falkenberg AB, and Repax AB, as Tennant seeks to accelerate growth in the Swedish region.

Clean Machine Falkenberg and Repax are respected distributors with a large customer base in southern Sweden, an experienced sales force, and an extensive service network.

Rollo Robotics secures €3.7m pre-seed round led by FoodLabs and Prototype to mature monowheel technology

Rollo Robotics, the Estonian deep-tech startup pioneering the world’s first stable autonomous monowheel security robot, has raised €3.7 million in pre-seed funding.

The round was led by Berlin-based FoodLabs and frontier tech venture capital company Prototype, with support from Enterprise Estonia’s RUP programme.

CHIPX to build advanced semiconductor manufacturing fabrication facility in Malaysia

CHIPX, a next-generation semiconductor and photonics manufacturer, has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art, 8-inch wafer fabrication facility in Malaysia, the first of its kind in the ASEAN region.

The facility will introduce advanced GaN/SiC manufacturing, driving Malaysia’s entry into front-end semiconductor production and accelerating domestic capability in photonics, high-bandwidth optical interconnects, and advanced materials engineering essential to next-generation AI and high-performance compute systems.

CHIPX is establishing advanced front-end manufacturing capabilities in Malaysia, spanning infrastructure, R&D, engineering teams, talent development programs, and structured technology-transfer initiatives that build local expertise. Teradyne Robotics to expand presence with new US operations hub in Metro Detroit, Michigan

Teradyne Robotics, one of the world’s largest providers of industrial collaborative and autonomous mobile robotics, has announced it will open a new US Operations Hub in Wixom, Metro Detroit, Michigan in 2026.

This strategic expansion reflects Teradyne Robotics’ commitment to operating close to its customers and meeting the growing manufacturing demand in the US and the Americas.

The new facility will manufacture Universal Robots (UR) industrial collaborative robots (cobots), with future potential to include MiR autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Trump reportedly considering robotics executive order as top scientists warn government is dismantling research funding

The Trump administration is preparing a major push to accelerate the development of robotics technologies, according to a report on the Politico website.

Five months after unveiling a national plan for artificial intelligence, the administration is now shifting its attention to autonomous systems and advanced manufacturing.

Mitsubishi completes acquisition of AG Melco Elevator

Mitsubishi Electric has completed the acquisition of all shares of AG Melco Elevator, an affiliated elevator company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from Rawafed Almustaqbal Group, a 100 percent subsidiary of Al Ghurair Investment, making AG Melco Elevator a wholly owned subsidiary.

Mitsubishi Electric and its Tokyo-based subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corporation are focused on strengthening their elevator maintenance and renewal business, which is expected to see increased demand in the building systems sector, one of Mitsubishi Electric’s key growth businesses.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship between Mitsubishi Electric and Al Ghurair Investment, which has spanned over 50 years since the establishment of AG Melco Elevator in 1975. NGK Insulators to invest $58 million into expansion of US production site

NGK Insulators has announced that it will invest a total of ¥8.96 billion ($56 million) in FM Industries, a subsidiary that manufactures components for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, to increase production capacity by approximately 1.2 times.

With production scheduled to begin in January 2027, FMI will establish a supply system capable of meeting the expected growth in semiconductor demand.

Toyota expands US manufacturing with up to $10 billion investment and unveils new $912 million hybrid-production boost

Toyota is significantly expanding its manufacturing footprint in the United States, announcing up to $10 billion in additional investment over the next five years, alongside a newly disclosed $912 million allocation to boost hybrid-vehicle production across five US plants.

The second investment is part of – and included within – the larger package announced earlier in November.

Volvo selects Sweden for its $74 million excavator assembly plant

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is expanding its European industrial footprint with a new crawler excavator assembly factory in Eskilstuna, Sweden, to be serving the European markets.

The 700 million SEK ($74 million) investment in Sweden is part of Volvo CE’s ambitions to strengthen its position in the important excavator segment.

The 30,000 square meter Eskilstuna facility aims to meet the growing European customer demand by increasing capacity and flexibility, and will enable reduced reliance on long-distance logistics, shorter delivery times, enhancing supply chain resilience and reducing carbon emissions.
