Vention expands conveyor platform with integrated end-of-line automation system

May 14, 2026 by David Edwards

Vention, a provider of an automation platform and hardware ecosystem, has announced the expansion of its conveyor ecosystem, delivering a fully integrated solution for material handling across assembly lines, warehouse logistics, and end-of-line packaging applications.

Vention’s conveyor ecosystem is part of its broader platform approach to industrial automation, where design, ordering, deployment, and operation are unified within a single environment.

By combining modular hardware with integrated control and intuitive software, Vention enables manufacturers to deploy and scale material handling systems with less engineering effort, lower integration risk, and reduced reliance on specialized expertise for setup and adjustments, driving greater operational consistency across sites. Humanoid and Schaeffler strike deal to deploy thousands of humanoid robots in factories

May 13, 2026 by David Edwards

Humanoid, a UK-based AI and robotics company, has signed a binding, phased deployment and supply agreement with Schaeffler, a leading motion technology company, to integrate humanoid robots directly into live manufacturing operations.

The first systems go live in Germany before the end of 2026. Humanoid will also purchase actuators from Schaeffler as a preferred supplier.

The agreement is one of the largest disclosed humanoid robot rollouts ever announced and positions Humanoid, founded by Artem Sokolov in 2024, among the youngest companies to secure a large-scale contract at this level. It targets deployment of a four-digit number of wheeled units across Schaeffler’s global facilities by 2032. Why most automation programmes plateau between cell and line

May 6, 2026 by David Edwards

A Tier 1 automotive supplier with three plants across central Europe finished its 2025 capex review with a slide that had been written four years running.

Eighty-six robots installed across the body-in-white area, cycle time at every cell inside its commissioning envelope, OEE figures the line manager could quote without checking.

Then, on the next slide, a line-level throughput figure that had moved 4% in three years against a planned 22%. The robotics team was performing. The line was not. The audit, when it came, traced the same pattern across all three plants. [Read more…] about Why most automation programmes plateau between cell and line

How Access Control Systems Integrate with Industrial IoT for Real-Time Security Automation

April 30, 2026 by David Edwards

Industrial environments are undergoing a massive transformation driven by the Industrial Internet of Things. Factories, energy plants, and logistics hubs are now powered by connected sensors, edge devices, and intelligent control systems that continuously exchange data in real time.

The scale of this transformation is significant. By 2025, the number of industrial IoT devices is expected to reach over 152 million globally, with the market projected to grow from $194.4 billion in 2024 to $286.3 billion by 2029.

At the same time, IoT security risks are rising sharply, with over 50 percent of IoT devices having critical vulnerabilities and one in three data breaches now involving IoT components. [Read more…] about How Access Control Systems Integrate with Industrial IoT for Real-Time Security Automation

The Hidden Ingredient Layer Behind Automated Food Processing

April 28, 2026 by David Edwards

Food factories love visible progress. A new robot arm. A cleaner packaging cell. A faster conveyor. A vision system that spots defects before a human operator would even notice them.

But a surprising amount of automation performance is decided before any of that equipment touches the product.

It starts in the mix tank, the formulation room, the chilling step, the coating drum, the dough sheet, the marinade, the binder, the stabilizer, and the moisture level. The boring stuff, basically. The stuff that doesn’t photograph well at trade shows. [Read more…] about The Hidden Ingredient Layer Behind Automated Food Processing

Why AI Agents Could Be the Missing Link Between Factory Automation and Real Results?

April 28, 2026 by David Edwards

A recent report from Eclipse Automation delivered a finding that will frustrate anyone who has spent the last five years investing in factory technology.

While automation is now widespread across North American manufacturing, only a small fraction of businesses are achieving meaningful outcomes from it.

Machines are moving faster, arms are picking more accurately, and conveyor systems run around the clock, yet the productivity needle, for many, barely moves. [Read more…] about Why AI Agents Could Be the Missing Link Between Factory Automation and Real Results?
