Why Factories Trust Robotics and Vision Tools for Better Food Quality Control

December 5, 2025 by David Edwards

Facilities now use smart tools and software instead of relying only on people to catch mistakes. These systems watch products while they move through factories and look for anything that seems different from the expected condition. They can notice foreign pieces, broken parts, or issues with wrapping before goods leave the building.

Firms also depend on these to avoid problems that could damage their name. When faults are found early, fewer items also need to be pulled back from stores. The information collected further helps teams understand where mistakes happen. Over time, routines become smoother and the quality of goods reaching shelves improves. The Quiet Infrastructure Behind Every Smart Factory

November 27, 2025 by David Edwards

Smart factories often draw attention for the robots moving with precision and confidence. Anyone watching sees efficiency, speed, and quiet coordination. Behind that scene sits an entire ecosystem that many people never think about.

Robots perform with precision when the environment provides stability. A robotic arm can weld, lift, or assemble with confidence when power remains clean and signals remain uninterrupted.

The moment that the foundation weakens, accuracy drops, and production slows. Every movement depends on infrastructure that performs without hesitation. [Read more…] about The Quiet Infrastructure Behind Every Smart Factory

QR-Driven Workflows: How Smart Codes Support Robotics, Maintenance and Digital Traceability

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

In robotics and industrial automation, speed and precision matter but so does the ability to access the right information at exactly the right moment.

Whether it’s a maintenance engineer standing beside a robotic arm, a technician needing an updated calibration sheet, or an operator trying to verify a process instruction, delays in documentation cost time, money and uptime.

That’s why many factories and robotics manufacturers have started turning to dynamic QR systems. Instead of relying on paper binders, outdated USB files or buried intranet folders, teams now attach scannable access points directly onto machines, panels or components. Interview with Schneider Electric’s digital leader Peter Weckesser: ‘AI is the brain’

November 7, 2025 by David Edwards

Schneider Electric is best known as a global leader in power systems and energy management – the company that keeps the world’s infrastructure running.

Less visible, but increasingly vital to its strategy, is a growing digital and software-driven business focused on automation, IoT, and AI. At the centre of that transformation is Peter Weckesser, Schneider Electric’s chief digital officer.

Weckesser doesn’t see technologies such as AI, IoT, and digital twins as disruptive forces, but as “strategic enablers of resilience, efficiency, and competitive growth”. [Read more…] about Interview with Schneider Electric’s digital leader Peter Weckesser: ‘AI is the brain’

Eclipse Automation demonstrates cyber-physical systems to Manufacturing Leadership Council Members

October 21, 2025 by Sam Francis

Eclipse Automation, a specialist in custom factory automation, brought the future of manufacturing to life last week, hosting more than 50 Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC) members at its Cambridge, Ontario facility for an immersive day exploring how digital and physical technologies – sometimes referred to as “cyber-physical systems” – are converging to redefine factory operations.

The event welcomed senior manufacturing executives from Fortune 1000 companies, joined by Eclipse engineers, technology partners, and industry innovators, to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the next decade of manufacturing.

Steve Mai, CEO of Eclipse Automation, says: “This event was an opportunity to reframe how manufacturing leaders think about the factory itself. Hosting the best minds in the industry allowed us to showcase our technology and explore what’s possible today, but also what’s necessary for tomorrow. 6 Technologies That Are Streamlining Modern Electronics Production

October 14, 2025 by Sam Francis

Automation is reshaping the landscape of electronics manufacturing. Today, nine out of ten manufacturers have already integrated some form of artificial intelligence into their operations, and the smart factory software market is projected to reach $97 billion by 2028.

This rapid technological shift has arrived at a critical time for the industry.

Manufacturers face a persistent labor shortage, with an estimated 500,000 to 600,000 open positions that remain difficult to fill. As a result, automation and intelligent systems have moved from being optional upgrades to essential tools for survival and growth. Top 10 predictive maintenance companies: Using AI to keep robotic systems running smoothly

August 15, 2025 by Mai Tao

Unplanned downtime is the enemy of efficiency in modern manufacturing and logistics. When a robotic system fails unexpectedly, it can halt entire production lines, delay deliveries, and rack up costly repairs.

As factories and warehouses become more reliant on robots, ensuring their continuous operation is critical – and that’s where predictive maintenance comes in.

Predictive maintenance, powered by artificial intelligence, uses real-time sensor data to forecast failures before they happen. It’s a powerful evolution from traditional maintenance strategies, and it’s helping businesses across industries keep their robotic systems running smoothly. Clean Cuts, Smarter Builds: How Laser Cutting Enhances Robotics and Automation

July 14, 2025 by David Edwards

Robotics and automation are only as precise as the tools that support them. As factories become smarter and systems more integrated, the need for ultra-accurate components continues to grow.

That’s where laser cutting steps in – not just as a tool, but as a foundational part of modern fabrication. Whether it’s shaping the housing of a robotic arm or customizing parts for industrial machines, laser cutting delivers speed, precision, and adaptability in ways that traditional methods often can’t match.
