Construction automation: Promise Robotics raises $15 million Series A funding

Promise Robotics, an AI company developing a cloud-based industrial production platform for robotic construction and assembly, has raised $15 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding raised to date to $25 million.

This round was led by Horizons Ventures with participation from Radical Ventures, PSP Investments, and strategic investors, including United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Relay Ventures, and Alate Partners.

The new funding will help Promise Robotics commercialize its first robotic factory platform to support its growing demand from homebuilders and to continue expanding its product IP in AI, computer vision, and industrialized robotics systems for construction. MassRobotics ready to give $100,000 to each company accepted into its accelerator program

MassRobotics, an independent robotics innovation hub, has launched the inaugural MassRobotics Accelerator, powered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech).

This program is built to support and advance robotics entrepreneurs by providing bespoke programming, individual mentorship, and immersion in the world-class robotics network that is the MassRobotics ecosystem.

Locus Robotics expands presence in Europe and Central America

Locus Robotics, a provider of autonomous mobile robots (AMR) for fulfilment warehouses, has increased its global presence with expansion across two continents.

In Europe, the US-based robotics supplier has announced an expanded commitment to Italy and Poland, while in Central America, lifestyle brand, Solo Brands has deployed the AI-enabled Locus AMR Solution at its fulfilment warehouse in Mexicali, Mexico.

Gecko Robotics launches ‘AI-driven’ data collection and analysis platform for industrial hardware

Gecko Robotics, a specialist developer and supplier of ultrasonic inspection robots, has launched its “AI-driven” data collection and analysis platform for industrial hardware – called “Cantilever”.

The “first-of-its-kind solution” integrates data from Gecko’s various robotic, fixed-sensor, and partner systems into a software platform that enables “unparalleled analysis and decision making about asset health”.

Gecko says that, by bringing together data layers that were not previously possible, Cantilever drives important decisions for customers that increase uptime, decrease costs, and eliminate safety issues. Fugro SpAARC’s space operations set to grow with further funding

Fugro’s Space Automation, AI and Robotics Control Complex (SpAARC) in Perth, Western Australia (WA), is to receive an additional AUD 5 million (just under $3.2 million US) in funding from the WA Government.

Roger Cook, the WA Premier, made the announcement at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth on the morning of the opening of IPSEC 2023, Perth’s Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference for leaders in space and cross-sector technologies.
