Florida university opens Blendid robotic smoothie kiosk

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) has opened an autonomous robotic smoothie kiosk from Blendid, a robotic food service solutions company.

Antoinette Biffar, FGCU, says: “There is no denying the current robotics evolution in the food service industry, and we are thrilled to work with Blendid to give FGCU students access to these innovative, proven food service solutions.

Sea Machines Robotics to introduce computer vision to US Coast Guard critical missions

Sea Machines Robotics, a developer of pioneering maritime autonomy and perception systems, has installed its new AI-ris computer vision product onboard a United States Coast Guard (USCG) 270’ Famous-class Medium Endurance Cutter ahead of the vessel’s upcoming deployment.

AI-ris uses artificial intelligence to identify and track visual targets of interest.

This installation was made possible under an ongoing Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between Sea Machines Robotics and the USCG Research and Development Center in an effort to evaluate how computer vision systems can be utilized for autonomous navigation, collision avoidance, and target detection. RC Mowers expands dealer network with addition of West Coast equipment company

RC Mowers, a manufacturer of remote-operated robotic mowers, has added another West Coast dealership to its expanding network with the onboarding of Cal-Line Equipment in California.

Fugro autonomous submarine completes geohazard site investigation activity off the coast of Suriname

Fugro has finalised fieldwork on a site investigation programme for TotalEnergies off the north-west coast of Paramaribo in Block 58 of the Guyana-Suriname Basin, just off the coast of Suriname.

The company used its autonomous submarine for the task.

The project sits approximately 150 km offshore in water depths ranging from 60 m to 2100 m and involves acquisition and analysis of geophysical data and geotechnical soil samples. Liquid Robotics and Hydro Systems deliver Japan’s first long-term ocean observation network

Liquid Robotics and its Japanese partner Hydro Systems Development (HSD) have delivered the first fleet of Wave Gliders to the Japan Coast Guard.

Liquid Robotics and HSD will assist the Japan Coast Guard in deploying eight Wave Gliders for a multi-year mission providing autonomous observation and situational awareness of ocean currents, wave activity, and weather along Japan’s coastlines.
