Ag-tech startup Saga Robotics delivers ‘excellent results’ in ‘biggest season yet’

December 20, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Saga Robotics says it has delivered “excellent results” in the company’s “biggest season yet”.

Last year, in what’s described as “a world-first”, the ag-tech company removed the requirement for fungicides to control strawberry powdery mildew. This season’s results consolidate the company’s status as a “stable and serious provider of automated integrated pest management”, according to Saga.

Saga Robotics is pleased to announce that its autonomous robotic platform, Thorvald has had its biggest season to date, operating and treating strawberry plants at Clock House Farm with UV-C light to control powdery mildew.

The ag-tech company says it achieved “complete control” of the pathogen treating all of Clock House Farm’s 30 hectares of tabletop crops. [Read more…] about Ag-tech startup Saga Robotics delivers ‘excellent results’ in ‘biggest season yet’

How to Take Good Instagram Pictures with Your Phone

December 7, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Back in 2010 when Instagram first launched, most of the photos on the platform were taken with low-quality smartphones using the in-app camera.

These days, those posts look unacceptably blurry and pixelated compared to the mix of high-quality amateur and professionally processed photos found on the site.

Along with where to buy likes for instagram, how to take good photos is one of the most frequently requested pieces of advice. This article will set people on the right path toward being better Instagram photographers. [Read more…] about How to Take Good Instagram Pictures with Your Phone

Buyer’s Guide to Choosing the Best Travel Headlamps of 2023

October 9, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

What do you need when you choose an exciting travel adventure? Note that this is not an ordinary trip, it is an adventurous trip. In addition to ordinary changes of clothes, essential food, water, first aid kits, sharp knives, and a practical super bright rechargeable headlamp are needed.

The first four items are easy to choose from, but different styles of bright headlamps, such as rechargeable headlights, spotlight headlamps, etc., will give you different feelings about the experience. Ask any experienced traveler and they will have the same must-have item on their list, that is, a durable bright headlamp.

If you get lost in the forest, climb in the snow-capped mountains, and walk on the road at night, then having a headlamp will help you avoid misfortune. If you look for pharmaceuticals in the dark and check for problems under the car and engine, then having a rechargeable led headlamp will give you a lot of conveniences. Small-batch medical shop triples production with robotics

July 27, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Figuring out how to meet rising production demand can be deceptive. On the surface, it’s a simple math problem. If you have one machine on the floor and it makes eight parts per day, and you need to produce 16 parts per day, just add another machine, right?

Meeting demand in a consistent, cost-effective manner is a bit more complicated. Sometimes, it takes a little more due diligence to uncover the best way to increase throughput or meet rising demand.

The operations group at Ultradent Products, a leading developer and manufacturer of high- tech dental materials and devices, faced such a problem. In 2017, the company sought to increase production of its industry-leading Valo curing light, used by dental clinicians to cure dental composites, sealants, and various other chemistries. Tips for Your Car Maintenance

January 6, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Taking care of your vehicle is a duty that comes with being self-employed. Yes, it’s time-consuming and costly, but the money you spend now will save you money in the long run.

One of the encouraging aspects of today’s vehicles is that they need fewer service visits to maintain them in peak operating conditions.

Maintaining your vehicle isn’t a one-time event. You don’t have to wait for your parents to recap you to get your tires rotated or renewed oil. [Read more…] about Tips for Your Car Maintenance

Engineers at Columbia University invent robotic lasers that cook food

December 16, 2021 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Engineers at Columbia University have invented software-controlled robotic lasers that cook food with “unparalleled precision”, retaining more moisture, and creating an entirely new, customized way to cook a tasty meal. (See videos below.)

Imagine having your own digital personal chef; ready to cook up whatever you want; able to tailor the shape, texture, and flavor just for you; and it’s all at the push of a button. Columbia engineers have been working on doing just that, using lasers for cooking and 3D printing technology for assembling foods.

Under the guidance of Mechanical Engineering Professor Hod Lipson, the “Digital Food” team of his Creative Machines Lab has been building a fully autonomous digital personal chef. Lipson’s group has been developing 3D-printed foods since 2007. Since then, food printing has progressed to multi-ingredient prints and has been explored by researchers and a few commercial companies. IDS cameras central to automatic photo portal for the documentation of intralogistics processes

August 27, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Due to digitalisation in Industry 4.0, internal logistics is subject to constant change. Internal traceability, that is the tracking of goods in the warehouse or production facility, is increasingly playing a key role.

Manufacturers and consumers are placing more and more emphasis on the safety and quality of products. Costly and image-damaging complaints must therefore be avoided.

Automation systems can help to optimise goods control here and at the same time facilitate and accelerate the work of the operators – saving time and costs. [Read more…] about IDS cameras central to automatic photo portal for the documentation of intralogistics processes
