Designed to carry out a very specific task, a nanobot, also known as nanorobots, can hunt for cells with identifiable characteristics; carry a payload of medicine for delivery to a specific place in the body and take a camera through a particular route to organs.

French institute completes inaugural robotics surgeries with Moon Surgical system

The Arnault Tzanck Institute and Moon Surgical, a French-American pioneer in collaborative robotics, announced the successful completion of the first ten laparoscopic surgeries leveraging a new, commercially-ready Maestro System in Nice, France.

The weight loss (bariatric) and abdominal surgery procedures were performed by Dr Benjamin Cadière and Dr Georges Debs, both laparoscopic surgeons, and mark the expansion of the hospital’s bariatric practice, which aims to provide integrated care to patients at its new Clinique du Poids Idéale – a one-stop shop for weight loss.

Diligent Robotics raises $25 million to commercialize its healthcare robots

Diligent Robotics, a specialist in robotic automation in health care, has raised $25 million in new financing led by Canaan, with True Ventures, DNX Ventures, Next Coast Ventures among the return investors and Northwestern Medicine Innovation joining as a new strategic investor.

Rich Boyle from Canaan will join the board of directors. The company will use the funds to fuel system-wide expansions of its revolutionary Moxi robot across hospitals nationwide, enhance product development and triple its market reach.
