How to Resolve Window Condensation

November 26, 2024 by David Edwards

Condensation on windows is a common winter phenomenon, and not necessarily indicative of air sealing or window replacement need.

Modern double and triple paned windows often include an inert gas layer (usually argon) between their glass panes to reduce condensation risk and avoid dew point reaching its dew point and creating condensation on their panes. [Read more…] about How to Resolve Window Condensation

ATI Industrial Automation introduces new robotic angle grinder

September 5, 2023 by Mark Allinson

ATI Industrial Automation has introduced the CGV-900 Compliant Angle Grinder to provide an automated alternative to grinding and finishing by hand. The company says the tool brings “versatility to robotic grinding processes while reducing employee safety concerns”.

The CGV-900 offers built-in compliance, allowing the unit to compensate for irregularities in part surfaces and maintain contact with a workpiece.

The compliance force is adjustable, enabling users to fine-tune their finishing processes in real time. The CGV-900 also provides position sensing data to help indicate media wear. [Read more…] about ATI Industrial Automation introduces new robotic angle grinder

Nissan teaches robots to make replacement parts for old cars

October 7, 2019 by Mai Tao

Breakthrough could mean parts for discontinued models become more widely available for customers

Nissan has developed a new way to use robots to make car parts out of sheet steel, a breakthrough that could make replacement parts for discontinued models more widely available for customers.

Nissan hopes to commercialize the proprietary technique, known as dual-sided dieless forming. The technique involves two synchronized robots working from opposite sides of a steel sheet, using diamond-coated tools to gradually shape the steel.

Thanks to its flexible production, short lead times and minimal upfront costs, the new technique could make it commercially viable to produce and sell a wide variety of after-service and replacement parts in small volumes for cars that Nissan no longer makes.
