Trustworthy Substation Inspection Robot Requires Low Power, High Performance, and Multi-Interface Fanless Embedded System

June 4, 2021 by Elaine Leave a Comment

A New Generation of Miniaturized, Lightweight, and Modular Wheeled Inspection Robot Powered by DFI Palm-sized Fanless Embedded System in China

Wheeled, substation, and intelligent inspection robots can effectively reduce labor intensity, substation operation, and maintenance costs. It can also improve inspection data quality and create a new substation inspection mode.

With low power consumption, high performance, complete I/O interface, and excellent technical support capabilities, DFI’s EC70A-SU assists Chinese customers to create a new generation of miniaturized, lightweight, and modular wheeled inspection robots. As a result, it improved the intellectual level of substation inspection.

Substation inspection robots mainly serve various substations, concentrated primarily on large-scale substations above 500kV. Therefore, they are used mainly to inspect substation equipment. They are divided into visible light inspections and infrared inspections. DFI brings accurate indoor positioning for e-commerce warehousing

April 15, 2021 by Elaine Leave a Comment

DFI’s embedded computers have helped the largest e-commerce platform in Taiwan to realize a more accurate indoor positioning in smart warehouse.

Affected by the raging Covid-19, the public avoids going out in fear of infection. Not only has e-commerce orders surged, but significant e-commerce companies must also expand the deployment of more advanced robots, such as shuttles between shelves, to increase the floor area ratio and improve storage efficiency.

Based on the needs of a top e-commerce company in Taiwan, DFI quickly customized the EC700-BT system and added an expansion card to provide a COM port compatible with RS-232/422/485 protocols and with galvanic isolation protection. Septentrio launches first-of-a-kind GPS/GNSS receiver for mobile robots

June 22, 2020 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Septentrio has launched whaat is says is a “first-of-a-kind” GPS/GNSS receiver offering always-on sub-decimeter accuracy without the need for additional correction service subscriptions.

The high-precision GNSS positioning solutions specialist says its AsteRx-m2 Sx OEM board represents a novel approach to high-accuracy positioning.

The Global Navigation Satellite System – GNSS – includes the American GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS, Chinese BeiDou, Japan’s QZSS and India’s NavIC. These satellite constellations broadcast positioning information to receivers which use it to calculate their absolute position.
