Where to Buy Process Automation Services for Manufacturing

February 26, 2026 by David Edwards

From robotic to business process automation, the number of tasks manufacturing companies can delegate to more efficient technologies is growing.

However, many enterprises need to seek third-party expertise to implement these properly, or more inefficiencies and misunderstandings could arise.

So, where can you buy process automation services for manufacturing, and how can they increase the likelihood of yielding the results organizations want? [Read more…] about Where to Buy Process Automation Services for Manufacturing

Defining the New Normal: How Technology Research is Shaping the Future of Workplace Automation

February 26, 2026 by David Edwards

Ever walked into an office lately and noticed how different things look compared to just a few years ago? The changes are pretty dramatic when you stop to think about it.

We’re not just talking about hybrid work schedules or fancier coffee machines. The whole foundation of how we work is shifting, and technology research is playing a huge role in figuring out what comes next. Predictive Maintenance Robotics: How AI and Automation Are Redefining Industrial Asset Reliability

February 26, 2026 by David Edwards

Predictive maintenance robotics is transforming how industrial organisations manage automation environments, moving beyond reactive maintenance and fixed schedules toward intelligent, data-driven maintenance strategies.

Instead of waiting for equipment failures or relying solely on manual inspections, organisations are deploying machine learning, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to optimise maintenance scheduling and reduce costly downtime.

In many industrial facilities, robotic diagnostics are now aligned with structured systems such as velappity’s hvac preventive maintenance software to ensure predictive maintenance processes integrate with enterprise asset management frameworks across different locations. 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs

February 19, 2026 by David Edwards

Running a third-party logistics operation means juggling multiple clients, complex billing structures, tight SLAs, and constant pressure to grow – all at the same time. A generic warehouse management system wasn’t built for that kind of complexity.

What separates a 3PL-specific WMS from standard warehouse software comes down to a few things: multi-client architecture, automated client billing, and customer-facing portals that give your clients real-time visibility into their inventory.

That’s why choosing the right WMS matters so much for 3PLs. The wrong system creates manual work, slows down client onboarding, and turns billing into a weekly headache. The right one becomes the operational backbone that lets you take on new business with confidence. [Read more…] about 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs

ABB launches ‘Automation Extended’ to help industries modernize control systems without disruption

February 8, 2026 by Sam Francis

ABB has introduced a new automation architecture called Automation Extended, designed to help industrial operators upgrade their control systems while avoiding costly shutdowns and large-scale equipment replacements.

The program builds on ABB’s installed base of distributed control systems (DCS) and aims to provide a structured path for companies to adopt newer digital technologies – including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and Internet of Things connectivity – without interfering with mission-critical operations.

Industries such as energy, chemicals, mining, and utilities are under increasing pressure from volatile markets, cybersecurity risks, regulatory demands, and workforce changes. ABB says its new approach allows operators to modernize gradually while preserving existing infrastructure. Bridging the Gap Between Software RPA and Warehouse Robotics

January 16, 2026 by Sam Francis

Warehouse automation traditionally followed two directions. Software RPA simplified digital processes, and warehouse robotics controlled physical tasks.

However, these two elements are converging now. Their integration helps you achieve more accurate and synchronized operations. Keep reading and learn how different systems interact and improve your productivity. [Read more…] about Bridging the Gap Between Software RPA and Warehouse Robotics

Before-and-After Automation Metrics: How to Compare Results Without Fooling Yourself

January 14, 2026 by Sam Francis

The problem with headline automation numbers

Automation projects are often announced with confident figures. A factory reports a 25 percent productivity increase. An RPA deployment claims faster processing times.

A robotics rollout is said to have reduced downtime significantly. These numbers sound compelling, but they can be misleading if the comparison behind them is poorly constructed.

The issue is rarely the absence of data. It is how that data is summarised and presented. [Read more…] about Before-and-After Automation Metrics: How to Compare Results Without Fooling Yourself

Opinion: The human advantage in the age of automation – a 2026 blueprint for manufacturing and aerospace

December 30, 2025 by Sam Francis

By Dr Doug Milburn, chairman of the Protocase companies

As we approach 2026, manufacturing, aerospace, and advanced technology are entering a period of profound transformation. Emerging technologies – particularly AI, automation, and robotics – are reshaping how work is done, how products are made, and how innovation occurs.

The organizations that will thrive are those that treat technology as a partner rather than a replacement for human talent, integrating operational excellence with workforce development and strategic foresight. How Automation and Smart Software Are Solving the Biggest Challenges in EV Charging Infrastructure

December 24, 2025 by David Edwards

In the effort to build reliable, scalable EV charging infrastructure that truly meets driver, fleet, and grid expectations, automation and smart EV charging software are both playing central roles.

As networks expand, only software‑driven, automation‑first approaches keep operations efficient, profitable, and ready for new models like vehicle‑to‑grid. [Read more…] about How Automation and Smart Software Are Solving the Biggest Challenges in EV Charging Infrastructure

How RPA is Transforming Healthcare Operations: From Administrative Burden to Intelligent Automation

December 23, 2025 by David Edwards

In the healthcare sector, organizations are grappling with mounting demands, soaring operational costs, and the urgent need to deliver smooth patient experiences.

A survey of adults found that the most common problems facing healthcare systems are limited access to treatment, long waiting times, and staff shortages.

Much of the work is still done manually. The repetitive tasks waste time and resources. Administrative complexity has become so embedded in the industry that it supersedes the primary focus of healthcare: to care for patients.
