Moorebot launches Scout E monitoring robot

Moorebot, the maker of robot applications like the Hubble Hugo Baby Cam and the Zeus fighting robot, has launched its new Scout E Robot “for kids, for adults, for homes and for businesses”.

Equipped with a high definition FHD1080P video camera as well as a microphone and speakers, the Moorebot Scout E can “range everywhere” and explore under beds, tables and chairs. Scout E supports a secure peer-to-peer connection which allows users to access the robot remotely from anywhere in the world.

OTTO Motors releases new software for fleet manage of autonomous mobile robots

OTTO Motors, a leading provider of autonomous mobile robots, released software giving customers “better visibility and depth” of their fleet’s performance.

Jay Judkowitz, VP of product at OTTO Motors, says: “Over the last few years, we’ve seen facilities test AMRs for automating material handling. Today, they are no longer testing, they are operationalizing.

Verizon Robotics and LA Times to ‘enhance storytelling’ with network-connected robots and drones

Verizon Robotics Business Technology, a business unit of telecommunications giant Verizon and one of America’s leading newspapers, the Los Angeles Times, have entered into an agreement to accelerate the application of advanced robotics and other technology from Verizon to expand on the way news is gathered, shared and consumed.

Through the engagement, the companies will work to integrate technologies including 4G-connected drones, 5G-connected ground robots and 3D modeled data, among others, to redefine digital media and add dimension to news reporting and storytelling. AutoX expands robotaxi operation zone to 1,000 km

Alibaba-backed AutoX, a developer of Level 4 fully autonomous cars, or “robotaxis”, now claims to operate “China’s largest autonomous driving area”.

The total area covers 1,000 square kilometers, including a 168-square-kilometer fully driverless zone. AutoX robotaxis are able to navigate all the public roads inside the 1,000 square kilometer area.

AutoX autonomous vehicle navigates through China’s urban villages

AutoX, a developer of Level 4 fully autonomous RoboTaxis founded by e-commerce giant Alibaba, has released a new video this week showcasing how its fully driverless RoboTaxis handle the challenging rush hour conditions of China’s “urban villages” in what is described as the “ultimate autonomous driving challenge”.

Unique to China, urban villages are ultra high-density residential neighborhoods in major cities, including Shenzhen and Guangzhou, that are typically surrounded by skyscrapers, transportation infrastructure, and other modern urban developments.
