Labor shortages set to propel shipments of outdoor mobile robots to 350,000 by 2030

Rapid advancements in fundamental techniques, such as navigation, manipulation, and functional safety, have made robots more intelligent, agile, and safer.

Mobile robots are a proven ideal companion for humans performing mission- and business-critical tasks in outdoor environments. According to global intelligence firm ABI Research, shipments of outdoor mobile robots will grow from 40,000 units in 2021 to reach 350,000 by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 27 percent.

With the successful deployment of mobile robots for successful navigation, manipulation, and functional safety in material handling, transporting, and cleaning, companies are now looking to deploy robots for outdoor applications for the same reasons. Fabric and Reply partner to expand robotic capabilities for warehouses

Fabric, a retail fulfillment automation company, and Reply, which specializes in new communications channels and digital media, have entered into a strategic partnership to offer brands and retailers “seamless integration” to a single point solution for a warehouse management system and automated robotic fulfillment.

Fabric will use the LEA Reply supply-chain execution platform – developed by Logistics Reply – to integrate with its automation solution and provide a ready-to-use connector to Reply’s leading WMS in the market.

This will also allow both Fabric and Reply to quickly develop new features for their customers to improve the performance of the robotics, WES, and WMS with minimal additional integration efforts and no disruption to the customers’ operations. Guident selected to provide autonomous shuttle services

Guident has been selected by Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) to provide an autonomous shuttle service for a 2.1-mile fixed route with eleven stops within BRiC and connecting to the Boca Raton Tri Rail station, the most frequented station in South Florida.

The service will utilize Polaris GEM e6 vehicles equipped with autonomous vehicle capabilities integrated with Guident’s Remote Monitor and Control Center (RMCC) located at BRiC.

Techman Robot launches ‘all-in-one’ AI collaborative robot series

Techman Robot has launched its “TM AI Cobot” series, describing it as a “collaborative robot which combines a powerful and precise robot arm with native AI inferencing engine and smart vision system in a complete package”.

The company says the new machine is ready for deployment in factories and can accelerate the transition to Industry 4.0.

Techman says the TM AI Cobot works on the principle of being smart, simple and safe. Attabotics secures $72 million to automate legacy fulfillment centers

Attabotics, a robotics-led supply chain company, has raised $71.7 million in Series C-1 funding led by Export Development Canada (EDC) with participation from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (Ontario Teachers’) through Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG).

The round brings Attabotics’ total funding to $165.1 million to date and will be used to further accelerate the commercialization of its 3D robotics warehousing solution in the wake of growing post-Covid-19 demand.
