Apacer launches ‘first’ memory module to meet specific aviation standard

Apacer, a manufacturer of industrial-grade memory, has released the XR-DIMM.

The company says the new rugged memory module is the first on the market to meet the standards of the US RTCA DO-160G test, an aviation equipment certification that marks the XR-DIMM as resistant to high levels of vibration and therefore “ideal for defense and aeronautical applications”.

CeMAT established as Russia’s leading intralogistics trade fair, says organiser

CeMAT has established itself as Russia’s leading intralogistics trade fair, according to organiser Deutsche Messe.

CeMAT Russia is on a course for continued growth. Featuring more than 150 exhibitors, this year’s edition will be staged in two halls at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow, with the first-time inclusion of the open-air site.

Demand for robots to surge in electronics industry, says report

The demand for articulated robots is forecast to surge in line with increasing applications in the electronics industry, according to a report by FMI.

The research company forecasts the global industrial robotics market to see substantial growth over the forecast period due to multiple driving factors such as the adoption of internet of things in industries and growing digitalization of manufacturing industry across geographies.

CloudMinds to supply 14,000 cleaning robots to two clients

CloudMinds Technology says it has been contracted to provide 10,000 intelligent cleaning robots to Jin Yu Ao Environmental Technology for government schools, large entertainment venues, national research institutes, office buildings and residential units.

CloudMinds will also deliver up to 3,700 various types of cloud service robots to Zhongtai Min’an Security Services Group to “enhance property management operations”.

US manufacturing output reaches ‘all-time high’

Manufacturing output in the US has reached an “all-time high”, signaling the industry’s strength, according to the National Association of Manufacturers.

For the past two years, manufacturers have been setting new records when it comes to manufacturing output, and through the first quarter of 2019, the industry has continued to reach new heights.

Four out of five manufacturers remain positive about their company’s outlook, according to the National Association of Manufacturers’ latest Outlook Survey, and new Bureau of Economic Analysis data find that manufacturers’ level of output hit an all-time high once again. Wipro partners with university for advanced research and innovation in autonomous systems, robotics and 5G

Wipro, widely known as an IT company, has formed a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India’s premier public establishment for research and higher education in science and engineering, to conduct advanced applied research in autonomous systems, robotics and 5G space.

The two organizations have jointly set up the Wipro IISc Research and Innovation Network (WIRIN), a hybrid industry-academia collaboration unit, which will drive idea discovery, research and innovation in technology and product design.

A group of senior professors and research staff from IISc and engineers, developers, architects and researchers from the autonomous systems, robotics and 5G domains at Wipro will constitute the team at WIRIN. Robot use in the packaging industry has grown nearly 48 percent among consumer packaged goods companies and 30 percent in the life sciences and pharma sector.
