Flexiv showcases robotic masseur and robotic coronavirus testing system

Flexiv, a “general-purpose” robotics company which also produces a collaborative robotic arm, has been showcasing some of its latest robotic developments at the recent World Artificial Intelligence Conference, held in China.

Flexiv’s booth featured a fully automated coronavirus testing robot, a robotic masseur, and a range of other industry-ready robotic solutions.

Universal Robots powers new mixed-case palletizing and piece-picking solutions at MODEX 2022

Universal Robots, a manufacturer of collaborative robots, will show attendees at North America’s largest supply chain expo how cobots can automate new hard-to-staff palletizing and piece-picking tasks in new applications from partners including Mujin and RightHand Robotics.

1 trillion dollars. That’s the astounding figure US e-commerce will reach in 2022, up 16 percent from 2021, according to Insider Intelligence forecasts, prompting warehousing labor wages to increase four times faster than before the pandemic.

Savioke says hotels turning to its room service robot

An increasing number of hotels are making enquiries to Savioke about its room service robots, according to the company.

As the hospitality industry struggles to adapt to changing consumer behavior during the coronavirus pandemic, many hotels are turning to room service robots to help wary travelers feel more at ease.

ABB unveils new ‘compact’ robotic interior painting system

ABB has unveiled a new “compact” robotic interior painting system, mainly aimed at the automotive manufacturing sector.

The Compact Interior Painting station enables automotive manufacturers to reduce the size of their vehicle interior painting stations by one-third, while saving costs and making automotive paint facilities more sustainable.

ABB says its latest innovative solution for automotive manufacturing – the Compact Interior Paint station – combines 12 robots to offer a space-saving alternative to traditional robotic interior painting solutions, helping automotive original equipment manufacturers reduce the footprint of their paint booths “by up to 33 percent”, while being able to paint a variety of vehicle types, from cars and SUVs to large MPVs. igus unveils virtual trade show booth

igus, a supplier of components, has unveiled a “virtual trade show booth” to provide some assistance to industry people who are “still bummed out about trade shows being cancelled”.

Enquiries for Savioke’s delivery robot double amid pandemic

The number of enquiries for Savioke’s delivery robot (see video below) has doubled amid the global coronavirus pandemic, according to an executive at the startup company.

Governments in virtually every country in the world have ordered lockdowns of citizens, or “shelter-in-place” orders, as they are referred to in the US.

Stäubli to showcase new range of robots designed for food sector

Stäubli is planning to use the forthcoming International Processing and Production Expo 2020 event to showcase a range of new industrial robots designed for the food sector.

The industrial automation specialist says the “humid environment” – or “HE” –  line of robotic solutions “leads the industry” in the safe, hygienic processing of a wide range of food products, including meats.

Yaskawa launches ‘explosion proof’ industrial robot for painting

Yaskawa Electric has launched what it describes as an “explosion-proof” industrial “handling” robot.

The new Motoman MHP 45L has a payload capacity of 45 kg, and maximum reach of 2,850 mm for painting areas using volatile paints.
