Arvato accelerates robotics implementation through strategic partnership with Unchained Robotics

March 10, 2026 by David Edwards

Third-party logistics service provider Arvato says it is taking the next step to bring automation and robotics into operational use faster and more effectively.

Through a strategic partnership with technology company Unchained Robotics, Arvato is accelerating the development and implementation of modular, vendor-independent robotics solutions for logistics and fulfillment processes. As part of the collaboration, Arvato has acquired a minority stake in the Paderborn-based German company.

Robotics is deliberately viewed not as an isolated technology, but as an integral part of holistic automation and scaling concepts. Over the coming years, Arvato plans to implement a three-digit number of robots across various logistics and fulfillment environments. 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs

February 19, 2026 by David Edwards

Running a third-party logistics operation means juggling multiple clients, complex billing structures, tight SLAs, and constant pressure to grow – all at the same time. A generic warehouse management system wasn’t built for that kind of complexity.

What separates a 3PL-specific WMS from standard warehouse software comes down to a few things: multi-client architecture, automated client billing, and customer-facing portals that give your clients real-time visibility into their inventory.

That’s why choosing the right WMS matters so much for 3PLs. The wrong system creates manual work, slows down client onboarding, and turns billing into a weekly headache. The right one becomes the operational backbone that lets you take on new business with confidence. [Read more…] about 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs

NEOintralogistics secures €3 million to ‘democratize warehouse automation’ through RaaS

January 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

NEOintralogistics, a German robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) provider in warehouse automation, has closed a €3 million seed funding round, led by the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund and strong participation from Cetus Holding.

The urgency for accessible automation solutions has never been greater. Despite the clear business case for automation with potential operational cost reductions of up to 65 percent, adoption has been severely limited by the high upfront investment required.

80 percent of global warehouses still operate manually, largely due to cost barriers that have made traditional automation accessible only to the largest operators. [Read more…] about NEOintralogistics secures €3 million to ‘democratize warehouse automation’ through RaaS

Eco-Friendly Job Sites: Reusing Shipping Containers for Sustainable Field Operations

January 30, 2026 by Sam Francis

Job sites are temporary by nature. Crews arrive, infrastructure goes up, work gets done, and everything moves on. For decades, that temporary mindset has come with a heavy environmental cost.

Portable trailers built for short lifespans, materials discarded at the end of a project, and constant transportation of fragile site offices all add up.

As sustainability becomes a real expectation rather than a marketing phrase, stakeholders are rethinking how job sites are set up from day one. [Read more…] about Eco-Friendly Job Sites: Reusing Shipping Containers for Sustainable Field Operations

Automated port and terminal operations: Robots moving global trade

January 29, 2026 by Sam Francis

Autonomous straddle carriers, cranes, and internal terminal vehicles

Ports are among the most automated industrial environments in the world – yet they remain largely invisible in discussions about robotics and autonomy.

While factories and warehouses dominate headlines, container terminals quietly operate as vast cyber-physical systems, coordinating fleets of machines that move the physical foundations of global trade.

A modern container port is not a single robot or even a fleet of robots. It is an integrated system of cranes, vehicles, sensors, software platforms, and human supervision, operating continuously under intense economic and political pressure. When ports fail, supply chains fracture. When they perform well, global commerce flows with little notice. [Read more…] about Automated port and terminal operations: Robots moving global trade
