The Shift from One-Size-Fits-All to Bespoke Systems

June 22, 2026 by Sam Francis

For anyone who has been running a business for years, they know that they were told that standard solutions were the smartest path forward!

Is this the truth, though? Businesses are told to buy the same software that everyone else is using, along with following the same processes, and make sure to fit their operations into a predetermined mold.

On the surface, this approach appears to be practical, easy to manage, and affordable. However, we must remember that industries are continuously evolving and customer expectations are continuously growing. What this means is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Fanuc-powered robotic cell automates one of furniture manufacturing’s toughest jobs

June 5, 2026 by Sam Francis

A Canadian furniture manufacturer has automated a traditionally labor-intensive upholstery process using a robotic work cell built around a Fanuc M-710iC industrial robot.

Developed by Fanuc Authorized System Integrator Dvolu, the automated upholstery cell performs a series of tasks that have historically required skilled human workers, including fabric stretching, stapling, trimming, and palletizing chair seat linings.

The project highlights how robotics is increasingly moving beyond traditional manufacturing applications such as welding, machine tending, and material handling into tasks that require a greater degree of dexterity and adaptability. Media company brings in AGVs from ek robotics to handle supply and disposal of printing machines

November 5, 2024 by Mark Allinson

More and more companies are relying on automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in intralogistics to increase efficiency and meet challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers.

This is also the case at GGP Media, in Pößneck, Thuringia, which produces high-quality print and digital publications.

In view of the shortage of skilled workers and rising costs, GGP Media decided to use an AGV in March 2024, which has been in 24-hour operation ever since. [Read more…] about Media company brings in AGVs from ek robotics to handle supply and disposal of printing machines
