Exol launches US robotic fulfillment network with ‘fulfillment-as-a-service’ model

April 9, 2026 by Sam Francis

Exol (formerly GreenBox Logistics) has launched its first US “physical AI” fulfillment facilities, introducing what the company describes as a new logistics model designed to expand access to large-scale warehouse automation.

The company says it plans to build a nationwide network of six automated sites totaling around six million square feet, aimed at supporting retail, wholesale and consumer goods companies. The first facility in Atlanta is now operational, while additional locations are planned in California, Texas, New Jersey and Illinois over the next year.

The concept behind Exol’s offering – described as “robotic fulfillment-as-a-service” – is to provide companies with access to automated warehouse infrastructure without requiring them to invest in their own systems. Florida Polytechnic University partners with Starship Technologies for nation’s ‘first point-of-sale integration’

March 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

Florida Polytechnic University’s newest high-tech addition is making dining on campus a little easier, and a lot more fun. With just a few taps on a phone screen, autonomous delivery robots can quickly deliver bagels, burritos, lattes and much more to Phoenixes throughout campus.

Florida Poly’s Phoenix Dining, managed by Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services, is partnering with Starship Technologies to introduce the innovative service. It launches with delivery from Einstein Bros. Bagels, Mosaic Café and Fire & Ash, with plans to expand options in the near future.

“These food delivery robots offer an exciting new way for our busy students, faculty and staff to quickly and conveniently enjoy a great meal, no matter where they are,” said Dr. Kerri Demeri, Florida Poly’s director of auxiliary enterprises. “Partnerships like this help us bring innovation directly to our students in meaningful, everyday ways.” [Read more…] about Florida Polytechnic University partners with Starship Technologies for nation’s ‘first point-of-sale integration’

Drones and the future of urban logistics: Rethinking congestion in the supply chain

March 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

By Michael Santora, CEO at Logic Robotics

Cities across the globe are wrestling with a stubborn challenge: congestion. While traffic often comes to mind first, logistics experts point out that the real bottleneck in many urban environments lies at the curb.

Trucks not only clog intersections as they navigate narrow streets, but also occupy scarce curb space for extended periods while unloading.

Competition for that space, from rideshares, taxis, sidewalk cafes, bike lanes, trash, and delivery vans, has intensified in recent years, leaving cities with limited options for efficient goods movement. Alstef Group unveils AI-powered autonomous industrial vehicle ahead of LogiMAT

March 23, 2026 by Sam Francis

Alstef Group – which designs and integrates automation solutions for the airport, intralogistics and parcel markets – has introduced a new autonomous industrial vehicle equipped with AI-based perception capabilities, as the company expands its portfolio and prepares to showcase the system at LogiMAT.

The new autonomous intelligent vehicle (AIV) is designed for warehouse and distribution environments where operations are increasingly dynamic and shared between humans and machines.

The system centers on what the company describes as a “perception bubble” – a continuously updated awareness zone that enables the vehicle to interpret and respond to its surroundings in real time. [Read more…] about Alstef Group unveils AI-powered autonomous industrial vehicle ahead of LogiMAT

MIT CTL and Mecalux develop an AI-based simulator to optimise inventory across warehouses

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation & Logistics and Mecalux have developed an artificial intelligence-based simulator capable of optimising inventory distribution across different warehouses within the same logistics network.

The platform, called Genetic Evaluation & Simulation for Inventory Strategy (Genesis), uses advanced machine learning models to analyse thousands of possible scenarios and determine the optimal stock level at each warehouse and when replenishment should occur.

The AI-based simulator takes into account variables such as forecast demand in each region, transport costs and the operational capacity of each warehouse to test various inventory replenishment policies without affecting real-world operations.
