New highly aerodynamic Audi design suggests cars may not have side mirrors in future

May 31, 2018 by Sam Francis

Streamline: Audi e-tron prototype with decisive aerodynamics

Side mirrors on cars can sometimes be bothersome, especially if you are driving through a very narrow space in, for example, a car park or something.

The chances of your side mirror making contact with another vehicle or some part of the building are obviously higher than any other part of your car – except maybe the front and back bumpers.

The idea of dispensing with side mirrors has probably occurred to many people before.  [Read more…] about New highly aerodynamic Audi design suggests cars may not have side mirrors in future

By Randy Blaylock, VP of sales for eFlex Systems

Interoperability has arrived and the ability of machines, devices, sensors, and people to connect and communicate with each other via the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is no longer conceptual.

It is practised every day on plant floors worldwide. Information systems can create a virtual copy of the physical world by enriching digital plant models with sensor data.

This requires the aggregation of raw sensor data to higher-value context information.  [Read more…] about Opinion: The intersection of paperless work instruction and IIoT cobots
