Why does Instagram ruin audio quality?

March 1, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Instagram is an incredibly popular social media platform that allows users to post photos and videos. The downside of this popularity is that the video and audio files uploaded to Instagram are compressed in order to reduce their size for storage and faster uploads and playback.

Unfortunately, this can result in a significant loss of audio quality. In this blog post, we’ll explore why audio quality on Instagram suffers from compression and what you can do to improve it. [Read more…] about Why does Instagram ruin audio quality?

Tools Guide for Your Heavy-Duty Workshop

June 2, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Whether you are looking to start the workshop you have always wanted or you want to uplift an existing one, there are a few tools you need to have on your wish list.

If you are a handyman by profession, or you love DIY projects, the most common must-have equipment includes a table saw, radial arm saw, band saw, or a good stud welder, depending on your frequent projects.

Dress-up equipment like a drill press, lathe, and a planer, are essentials every workshop should have. Most projects can be passed only using a drill press, a saw, and proper hand tools. [Read more…] about Tools Guide for Your Heavy-Duty Workshop

Comau to develop new robotic systems with shipbuilder Fincantieri

May 21, 2021 by Sam Francis Leave a Comment

Shipbuilder Fincantieri and Comau Robotics, two Italian industrial giants in their respective markets, have signed a letter of intent to develop prototypes of robotized steel welding solutions and the resulting construction of series of machines, to be implemented at first in Fincantieri shipyards.

Paolo Carmassi, Comau CEO, and Fabio Gallia, Fincantieri general manager, signed the agreement.

The first joint project, of which the operating agreement is currently under way and related tests are scheduled at the Fincantieri shipyards by the first half of the year 2022, will involve a welding robot vehicle consisting of an anthropomorphic welding robot and a remote control tracked vehicle. DFI provides ‘the most reliable brain and cerebellum’ for giant AGV in LCD panel factories

May 20, 2021 by Elaine Leave a Comment

DFI’s AMR-dedicated AI computer enhances mobility and accuracy of mobile robots

The humble LCD panel was originally one of the Taiwanese government’s “Two Trillion & Twin Star” plan to develop its high-tech sectors. Now, it’s one of the country’s most significant symbols of electronics manufacturing.

With the trend of panel generation becoming larger and larger, in the production line of large-size panels, handling technology is also relatively important. [Read more…] about DFI provides ‘the most reliable brain and cerebellum’ for giant AGV in LCD panel factories

Piab adds new size to its ‘bellows’ end-effector range

May 19, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Piab has further broadened its already extensive range of what are called “end-effectors” – basically the “hands” for robotic arms.

Piab has extended its line of bellows flat friction suction cups to include a cup measuring 80 mm in diameter.

With this 80 mm cup, the company says it will fill the gap in its “highly competitive” range of DuraFlex friction cups. The new size BFFT80P-2 is available with 10 standard friction suction cup fittings. [Read more…] about Piab adds new size to its ‘bellows’ end-effector range

How to select the best rugged external drive

September 24, 2020 by Polly Leave a Comment

If you are someone who does their work on the go, you will find it necessary to have a portable storage device that can handle rough conditions like random drops, high temperatures, and minor water spills.

External drives (mainly HDDs) are so vulnerable if not handled with care. This is because they are mechanical, and a small distortion in the orientation of the plates and the head can lead to failure.

As a traveler, you may have to consider a couple of factors before deciding which external storage device to buy. [Read more…] about How to select the best rugged external drive
