Einride deploys autonomous electric trucks in Ohio freight corridor pilot

May 18, 2026 by David Edwards

Einride and EASE Logistics have announced the deployment of SAE Level 4 (L4) Einride autonomous trucks into proof-of-concept service between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio.

This deployment is an extension of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and DriveOhio’s Truck Automation Corridor Project, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and is designed to evaluate the impact of autonomous technology on operations, safety, and freight efficiency.

Operations will take place on EASE property and local public roads and will utilize two of Einride’s advanced L4 autonomous electric trucks, already successfully operating in real-world daily operations across the United States. Einride and IonQ partnership uses quantum computing to optimize the logistics of electric and autonomous freight

December 11, 2025 by David Edwards

Einride, a developer of electric and autonomous freight operations for some of the world’s largest shippers, has announced its initial results of a groundbreaking collaboration with the US-based quantum computing company IonQ to further enhance Einride’s AI-powered optimization platform, Saga. This marks the first real-world application using quantum computing to analyze commercial transport data.

Einride and IonQ entered into a three-year partnership in May 2025 to explore ways to further enhance the Company’s Saga platform through quantum technology.

Saga uses the comprehensive operational and customer data generated by Einride’s vertically integrated transport ecosystem of electric trucks, autonomous trucks, and charging infrastructure. This allows Einride to successfully serve customers’ transport demand with fewer vehicles, lower energy use, and reduced overall transport cost.

“Achieving fully electrified and automated freight networks in the most efficient way possible is an exponentially complex task,” said Roozbeh Charli, CEO at Einride. [Read more…] about Einride and IonQ partnership uses quantum computing to optimize the logistics of electric and autonomous freight

Einride operates ‘first ever’ fully autonomous heavy-duty truck on a public road in Belgium

October 6, 2025 by David Edwards

Einride, a technology company that provides digital, electric and autonomous solutions for road freight, has for the first time operated a fully autonomous heavy-duty vehicle on a public road in Belgium.

This safety-validated demonstration, achieved at Port of Antwerp-Bruges, was permitted under the Belgian regulatory framework and it showcases how Belgium – and Europe – can take the lead in advancing autonomous freight technology.

Johan Klaps, chairman of the board of directors Port of Antwerp-Bruges and Antwerp port alderman: “Antwerp is more than a logistical hub: it is also a place where the mobility of tomorrow is tested and concretized. Einride autonomous truck crosses border without a human driver onboard

September 30, 2025 by David Edwards

Einride, a technology company that provides digital, electric and autonomous solutions for road freight, has achieved what it describes as a “historic milestone”: the successful cross-border operation of a cabless electric autonomous vehicle without a human driver onboard.

The autonomous border-crossing took place at the Ørje border crossing, between Norway and Sweden, and marks the world-first cabless electric autonomous crossing of a country’s border.

Autonomous cross-border vehicle operations are challenging due to differing national regulations as well as technical barriers such as inconsistent road signage and customs procedures. [Read more…] about Einride autonomous truck crosses border without a human driver onboard

Top 10 autonomous truck companies: Powering into the future

January 24, 2025 by Mark Allinson

Autonomous trucks are one of the most exciting developments in any automotive category, in our opinion. The main reason we think this is because we can’t see autonomous cars being given permission by governments to operate freely on public roads.

Autonomous trucks, meanwhile, have already racked up many years of happy operating in the mining sector – and that is likely to grow, and maybe encompass moving non-mining materials and goods as well. This might need tweaks such as driving at night on lonely highways, but that’s not a problem if you’re not human, of course.

Whether you compare them to other segments or not, autonomous trucks are at the forefront of technological advancements in transportation. These vehicles are designed to navigate and operate without human intervention, and represent a paradigm shift in logistics, freight, and commercial transportation.

The journey toward autonomous trucking began with prototypes and pilot tests that challenged the boundaries of innovation.

The first autonomous truck to make headlines in this recent era – let’s say the past 10 to 15 years – was a prototype developed by Daimler Trucks, which successfully completed a public road test in Nevada in 2015. This milestone marked the start of widespread interest and investment in autonomous truck technology. [Read more…] about Top 10 autonomous truck companies: Powering into the future
